i never thought Intense were really very deserving of a name like intense... :eyes:

Caps, you ever heard Demolition Hammer?? That will crush your face to the floor

I agree with Atom's choice of Obituary, Cause of Death is fucking brutal, slow and heavy as fuck, with a large dose of deathrashing mania :rockdevil:

If you want some mighty power amazingness look no further than Manowar's 2nd, 3rd and 4th albums, or go a bit prog-y and get Symphony X (all the albums are great), ask me to recommend some if you've not heard it :)

Who knows.... :P

Recent METAL albums that have been absolute killers:

Ares Kingdom - Return to Dust - http://www.myspace.com/areskingdom
Deceased - As the Weird Travel On, Supernatural Addiction, Fearless Undead Machines - http://www.myspace.com/undeadmachines
Deathevokation - Chalice of Ages - http://www.myspace.com/deathevokation
I - Between Two Worlds - http://www.myspace.com/abbathi

The last two are a bit more death and black metal respectively, but absolute killers. Other great albums lately have been the last Darkthrone album (fucking ATTITUDE!), Necros Christos 'Triune Impurity Rites', etc. etc. Plus there's a new Lord Weird Slough Feg album coming out this year - anyone who considers themself a metal fan should check them out: http://www.myspace.com/sloughfeg

There's plenty of good new metal coming out if you look hard enough.

Read the review, i sort of made that point myself, however, they may not be intense in the way that a death metal band is, but they are so metal, they probably eat studs n leather and shit studded wristbands!!!!

Right now it's looking like either Immortal or Orbituary, although that Pagan Altar thing was pretty good. I have only heard a little bit of DH and do intend to check them out soon. However, I think the other two being masters in their genres might give me some new listening pleasure.

If you're looking for riffs and intensity look no further than Vio-lence's "Eternal Nightmare". Makes me want to smash something up every time I listen to it. And if you buy the re-release you get a bonus live CD with it.

I don't know if this is fate or what but I went up to London this weekend and lost my Eternal Nightmare CD. After watching the DVD I had decided I couldn't last five days without listening and so it joined me on the trip with a couple of other CDs. Whilst shopping for my CD based on these here recos, I discovered the RR re-issue of Obituary Slowly we Rot and Cause of Death for a tenner! Bought it and I am pretty pleased. Both albums own and Circle of the Tyrants sounds wicked (despite me not being particuarly bothered by the CF version). Anyway, despite gaining one recommendation I lost another - Eternal Nightmare. I think it fell out my bag on the way back to Kent. Not pleasing, especially as I lost my Viking Man of Straw and that is a bitch to order... :(
