Not sure if im posting in the right place here so if im not. unlucky. Anyway.
i am new to the website and never rlly done this b4 but here goes.
We are a 5 piece heavy metal/Thrash band that are trying to make a sound that is recognisable with old skool metal but at the same bringing it up to date with a fresh sound. The band has been together around 4 months, and we would like to know your opinions on what weve done so far. any suggestions or criticism are welcome whether we will take any notice is a different thing. We are also looking to start traveling to do some gigs so any idea's for help would be wicked.

Sorry mate, not really doing it for me. Maybe its the programmed drums, the dodgy clean vocals, the dodgy non-clean vocals, the fact that you list your influences as Trivium and Bullet for my Valentine, or the slowness and unimaginitiveness of the riffs. Don't think this is gonna light the UK Thrash scene on fire somehow.

Re: What do u think?
I can hear the old school (simple slayer/metallica) riffs and maybe a little Sabbat in the voice. I can hear the BFMV/Trivium when the clean/screamo lyrics come in. While it may be a good idea to cross these two 'styles' at the moment it sounds forced. Although both Trivium and BFMV claim to be 'old school thrashers' their sound/style only bears a passing resemblance to their 'heroes', there may be a good reason for this.
I think the only way for you to work this out is to start playing local gigs and you'll start to get a feeling for how the music plays live with strangers staring at you. You may strike gold or you may get a smacked in the chops but either way you'll learn something you can't learn in your garage with your friends.
good luck.

Re: What do u think?
I think the changes ebtween clean andscreamo aren't neccessary whatsoever and prevent it from being thrash really. The BFMV/Trivium influences are slightly too present too if you ask me.
The instrumental needs a little more work, and the vocals should stick to one style - either shout and scream or sing clean, avoid doing both for the time being until you've established yourselves a little more. Besides that, not awful but not too great either. keep working at it and you'll get your sound right. Good luck to ya!

Re: What do u think?
Lose the clean vox, work on the gravelly vox a bit more. (Feels weird me saying lose the clean vox lol). Yeah i can hear the Trivium and Bfmv in there, obviously massive influences for you which is fair enough, personally i can't stand them, but eye of the beholder and all that shiz. Just work at it, make it your own and dance a little jig for my benefit, just cause thats the way i roll babbbbbbbbbbbby.
Better than that other band who posted on here not so long ago. You ALL know who i mean.
Keep at it boyeeeeeee!

At least this wasn't a copy+paste job from the drummer, claiming they're not in the band when they are...

Re: What do u think?
The metalcore influences of Trivium, Bullet and Machine Head come through too much. But if that is your thing i guess you could stick at that. Get rid of the clean vocals like everybody else said. I have never been a fan of the emoey vocal breakaway that seems to happen in metalcore.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! will keep in mind what everyone has said and see what happens when we start gigging. personally i prefer the gravelly sound but its all about finding a happy medium with other members of the band. Will see what they all think.

Re: What do u think?
Listened to the first song, 2 mins in and 6 riff changes the vocals finally came in. Work on cutting down the boring intros cos I found it hard to wait for the vocals.
And please get away from the clean/heavy vocal parts, It's terribly generic and just terribly terrible.
Again, work on the delicious gravy vocals etc. and hunt a bit deeper for some influences to beef up the writing process.
Hearing People of the Lie took me back, use to cover that in Seregon yonks back! And Terororzone, ha!

Re: What do u think?
Deffo get rid of those clean vocals. Some chopping up of the songs to trim them down is on the cards too, good tone and nice and tight for an early demo though and the fact that you've been going for such a short time is pretty epic.
As a small thing that's personal to me, don't advertise your demo as being available only at gigs. You're doing no gigs at the mo and you live in Wales so people that want your stuff are nigh on never going to get it. Paypal takes ten minutes to set up or you could make an online shop.

Have you gentlefolk ever heard either Nuclear Assault or Sacred Reich? Because I was expecting a delightful mix of the two. Maybe you should try that...
