I wish I saw it in the cinema, it would've been bloody ruddy brilliant. Not anywhere near as good as The Dark Knight obviously, but better than nearly all the Marvel films I've seen, apart from X-Men 2 and Spider-Man 2. Nice.

I just re-read this and i have to say that Iron Man is far superior to either X-Men 2 or Spiderman 2. For one it has The Dude in it (which is high merits for any film as i see it) as well as being quite well written and having a far more attractive female cast honestly.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Iron Man is easily the best Marvel movie, by like...a bloody long way.

I'll have to re-watch X-Men 2 again, but as far as I can remember that is my favourite Marvel movie, it has more emotional goodness in it of many kinds, which is why I loved it very much, plus it had both Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan in it... you can't go wrong really (well, you can actually, as The Last Stand proved unfortunately). I'd maybe consider Iron Man on a par with Spider-Man 2, as I really bloody loved it, despite it's cheesy hilarity (or possibly because of it). I thought Dr Octopus was a brilliant character, and Alfred Molina was awesome. Just great fun times all around, kind of how I felt with Iron Man, which is nice. Hopefully Iron Man 2 will be better, apparently Don Cheadle is replacing the other guy who was Tony Stark's boy who becomes War Machine or something (can't remember his name, he was in Crash (the one about racism)), which is a shame as the other guy was good, but so is Don Cheadle, so it's alright.

The chances of Iron Man 2 being better is very slim, considering Iron Man 1 is beyond bloody fantastic brilliant AND Terrence Howard would be a far, far better War Machine than Don Cheadle. Don is a classic black man, Terrence is a modern black man. War Machine suits the modern style.

Although one lovely thing is, with announcing the new War Machine, they've also confirmed he's in The Avengers. Which is nice.

Hmmm, yeah, Terrence Howard (that's his name, I remember now, because you told me, thanks), he's very good. And it will be a shame and a bit bizarre to see the same character played by a different person (it was fine with Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight but Katie Holmes was shit in Batman Begins, but Terrence is a lovely good man), but Don Cheadle is a brilliant black man. Although he's shit at being a cockney, Hotel Rwanda was ridiculous, and he was also really good in Crash, well done him indeed. As just as actor in a film, I think he's easily as good as Howard, if not better. But I don't know anything about Iron Man comics/cartoons, so I don't know what War Machine's like, so I can't really have an opinion on that matter.

But still, hooray for Don Cheadle.

Oh yeah, what was that all about with Sam Motherfucking Jackson as Nick Fury right at the end? I don't know much about anything, please explain it to me.

Dear me.

War Machine is very much a character that suits a new school black man. Not the classic I'm just truely awesome black man. He often pops in last minute and saves Iron Mans arse, type of guy. Picture the new film, picture that Iron Man is in trouble in this film, now picture Terrence Howard saving him, now picture the same event with Don Cheadle saving him. Doesn't work. You'd expect Don to be kicking arse and Iron Man having to save him. Basically, Don's too good for this role.

L Jackson is at the end of all the Marvel movies (Iron Man onwards) recruiting everyone for The Avengers. Avengers will have Nick Fury, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man and War Machine. And also possibly Spider-Man, Red Skull, Abomination, Manderin and The Leader.

Ah, I see. Well yes, what you said about War Machine definitely makes sense. Don Cheadle is definitely too brilliant for something like that. Well, the new Hulk film is next on my rental list, so hopefully that'll be good too.

Really, someone should've just made sure Heath Ledger didn't die and just got him to play every villain in every film ever, then every film ever made would be amazing.

It's the second best Mavel movie, after Iron Man. They've really just decided to grow some balls and make comic movies decent, it seems.

Well apparently, I was told last night that Marvel finally have the right to write their own films, so maybe that's why they're getting good now. So maybe Spider-man 4 will be good!

If Venom comes back, which is the rumour, I hope they make him...y'know...not completely shite.

Yeah. The second one was the only one I actually really really enjoyed. The first one was alright for a bit of fun, and had Willem Dafoe in it, which is great, and as you say, the third one was just bloody horrible. Parker turning into an emo pussy, Venom turning out to be a big gay, Sandman being completely pointless... I liked the storyline with Harry though, that was the best thing about all three. Actually no, Bruce Campell was the best thing. He really is the best man ever.

Apparently Sam Raimi doesn't like Venom, which is probably why he was so shit and why I wouldn't be surprised if he never came back, until another director takes over, which obviously isn't happening for a while.

Sandman was really good. The only good thing about the movie. They shouldn't have had Venom in it, and should have focused a lot more in Sandman being a harder opponent like Doc Oc.
