I just wanted to say...

...That what the UK thrash lads, and Seregon - in particular - along with Malc at the snooty
have done since the sad news of Mike Alexander is truly remarkable

In a world where money issues are constant, racism, and generally thrash being an underground niche market,
for these individuals (not forgetting others) to go out of their way to support his family is something that we can all aspire to, and something that they should be truly proud of themselves for.

Good on you lads

That is all

Infact i find it so truly heartwarming that i feel i ought to do my own bit

I have just been tring to set up the ebay sales i do so that a percentage of every sale goes towards this fund - alas - it is not a registered charity so it's not possible to do it that way

Does anyone know of the family's intention for the money? Would it be prefered for me to donate this money to their chosen charity and have a note about Mike, or just to keep some money to the side and donate it monthly?

Cheers

Thanks for the comments, the original idea to set up a donation fund was put forward by someone in the tribute thread (I forget who ), so we can only take so much of the credit - we're just fortunate enough to be in a position to offer the service. The real credit has to go to the people who have donated, I'm not going to release figures but it's personally staggering to see the support that so many people have given.

Unfortunately UKThrash isn't a registered charity (I had problems with PayPal with that as well - I put us down as a "non-profit organisation" which in their terms means "charity" - fuckers) but you can do a PayPal donation every month if it's easier for you. I'll be moving the donations PayPal account back to UKThrash donations at the end of November, but people can still donate to the fund if they mark the donation, or just email us when they donate, and we'll keep it aside.

The idea so far is that it's being held "in trust" for Mike's family. I haven't had any personal contact with Mike's family - only the band's manager, Julie - so I don't know the exact intentions, but I would imagine more details will be released when they're known :)
