I like both for different reasons. I think Exhorder did the better stuff in terms of out-and-out Metal with a bit of a Hardcore influence, i.e. what Pantera tried to do. However, I think Pantera stuff Exhorder silly when it comes to quality songs like Cemetery Gates and Mouth For War.

Yeah, I'd pretty much agree with Iain - I hate Pantera mind, but it's a fair point.

Nah, I thought Pantera's attempts at ultra-quick stuff, i.e. The Great Southern Trendkill, were gant. They should have kept writing songs like The Sleep.

I really like Exhorder but I do think that Pantera are slightly better in terms of quality of songs...Like Metal Iain said to be honest.

The Sleep is my favourite Pantera song, but The Great Southern Trendkill is my favourite album.

So... and that's...

Everyone just shut up and accept what I say: Pantera were Exhorder wannabes but, ironically, do have better songs to their credit than do Exhorder, namely the ones that don't sound like Exhorder songs.

Most bands start out wanting to be other bands.

But Pantera didn't start sounding really like Exhorder until they had already released five or six albums...
