i think that young ones would have been much funnier to me if i had watched it when it first came out, i still watch it tho, but bottom is king of comedy for me lol

Loved both of them to be honest, and it would be impossible to chose

But for me, unless you have seen The Dangerous Brothers,

You have never lived

Bottom was disgusting, I was never into that shit. Young Ones, on the other hand, defined my childhood and is the only fucking reason that I went to University.

Does anyone remember Fithy, Rich and Catflap? It pretty much had the same cast as The Young Ones. I only have vague recolection of that programme!!

Is it out on DVD?

It was fucking gash!

It's on Sky from time to time. It was Edmondson, Mayall and Planner. I had high hopes for it and was let down.

Rip your fuckin' flesh off,
Beat you 'till you're just a fucking lifeless carcass,
Fuck you and your progress,

I used to like Filthy, Rich and Catflap. It was just weird enough to be good.
The Dangerous Brothers used to be on Channel 4 on a programme callled "Friday Night Live", hosted by Ben Elton. Harry Enfield started out on there as well (doing his Stavros character).
Of course, the kings of Channel 4 comedy (in my opinion anyway) were the "Who Dares Wins" crew - Tony Robinson (later to become Baldrick), Rory McGrath, Jimmy Mulville, Philip Pope and Julia Hills. Saw them do it live once in Manchester and it was brilliant. Well, apart from Tony Robinson walking around naked after the "Emperor's New Clothes" sketch. Still, the women liked it.
