I like my rock music the same as everyone else.I like it to be good.
Radiohead to me are dull and whiny.Progressive music for people that don't actually know anything about it.
Yes,a lot of people like them,but equally a lot don't,that doesn't mean they only like "generic and predictable" music.

Regardless of your opinion on them, Radiohead are certainly making music which is pretty unique and that has a lot of different things going on in terms of layering, melody, interesting guitar sounds, etc.
