You can use what you want. You could still use iTunes to rip your stuff and then drag and drop into your Zen as you would with a removable drive.

As Shugmaster's said, you don't "have" to use WMP, just as much as you don't "have" to do it any other way. I personally use WMP coz I just whack all 23GB of music onto it, so when I plug my Zen it just syncs in the same way as an iPod, just analyses the collection on both and transfers the new stuff. On Linux I use Amarok, which does the same job.

iTunes will definitely not sync with a Zen though.

Just one. They keep extending my credit limit because I make my monthly payments but still owe them money.

And you'll all need to get a credit card at some point. Just think of them as an extra source of money that you have to pay about £100 a year to have. Besides, most you get will be interest free for a year so if you want to make any big purchases, pay by credit so that your debit account isn't raped.
