did that guy really play guitar without a pick? Also, the greased up muscle-boy thing is probably why everyone reckons he's a bit gay haha!

Not that I can see the pick but, judging by the shape of his picking hand, I'd assume that he used one. That and he used a fair bit of distortion so again I'd assume a pick was being used.
Why do people say, 'that guy's gay' because he's all buff and greased yet go on about Stallone and Schwarzenengger?

no i swear i remember seeing an alice cooper video where he was plucking away with his thumb and forefinger like some country player or something.
Not that i thing Schwarzneggers particularly great or anything, but he generally had less of a poodle perm and eyeliner.

In a video (I think it was Freedom) I distinctly remember him breaking a guitar over his knee too. Try it, it hurts!
The moral of the story is, don't take everything you see on TV as indeterminable fact.
Besides, Thrash is all about dressing like a woman so what's your problem?

Here's the video where he's obviously not using a pick - but - it's only a promo video for "Freedom" and obviously pre-recorded so decide for yourselves.

Actually, I just noticed something. Watch closely during his solo near the end and there's a bit of a continuity error. He's playing freely for a while and then there's a close up and hey presto - a pick appears.
Usless piece of info #34544: He also played one of Horace Pinker's possessed bodies in the Wes Craven film Shocker.

It's really not.
Long hair, tight jeans, Reebok pumps and the occasional bit of PVC.
Sounds like a woman's dress code to me.

So by extension, black metallers are just clowns in gimp suits then?
Acutally, don't answer that.

Man, I couldn't have provided a more apt description on Black Metal devotees myself.
BRAVO!

erm.... what's the 'glam' dress code then?
I don't really think thrash has a dress code as such anymore... what with baggy clothes being invented since the 80s

It's slightly less over the top (gay) and uses more blonde highlights than this:
Mind you, sometimes Hair Metal bands looked a lot less Hair Metal than their Thrash counterparts:
