Metallica Rock and Roll Hall of fame induction

Postby origamikid on Sun Apr 05, 2009 11:52 am

Hey people, Last night was the Hall of fame induction for Tallica, obviously you all know how big a thing this is, especially considering they got the nomination as soon as they were able! I think its only Black sabbath as the only other pure heavy metal band in the hall now, awesome!

Anyway they played three songs live, which i must say are two of the best preformances i have seen in a while from the band. Newsted was of course playing with them which was very very awesome to see, the band def misses his backing vocals.

Also as a special awesome fucking thing at the end, where Metallica did a suprise Jam of "Train kept A Rollin" with the extra players on stage of + Jason Newsted on Bass + Flea (RHCP) on Bass + LED ZEPPELIN's Jimmy Page, AEROSMITH's Joe Perry and Jeff Beck. I think Ronnie wood is playing aswell!!!

Theres the video to that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWdOUGN4 ... re=related

The video to Master of Puppets live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SirJal1 ... annel_page

Im such a nerd i set my alarm so i could watch this. I loved it, Ron and Jason both doing backing too, looked amazing. Also to hear his backing vocals on this again was really cool and makes me sorta wish he was back.

I think Newsted is def a better bassist then Trujillo and i prefer Newsteds work (he was awesome in Flotsam & Jetsam)
His backing vocals wer aweosme, especially where James let him just sing a little bit, although im not sure they looked overly happy to have him on stage ...cant decide.

The speach each of them gave (didnt se ewhat Flea had to say) was the only time in which any of them seemed to aknowledge Jason was standing next to them, and they wer all laughing etc. They treated him like shit throughout the time he was there, nice to see they invited him to this at the very least

Nahh they seemed happy to have him there by the looks of things. Jason was over by the kit a lot speaking to Lars and him n Lars were joking about a bit during the speeches. It was nice to hear Jasons vocals again aswell. It just looked great and the pictures are great. especially with Ron and Jason both doing backing vocals with each other. It was nice.

I've always preferred him to that Rob fellow.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

They will be soon, but James Hetfield made sure he took the credit in his speech for every other band who does make it into the hall of fame from now. Which I thought was quite funny.
