Good Fun day, walking around the south bank getting accosted by actors, Doctor Death played well for looking rather ill, i didn't mind lifeless they would be a good band for River Freshney to play with style wise, FKU were great and i picked up their E.P so all is well apart from the fact i have to get up in a few hours to head into uni but good to see everyone again.

You are clearly judging them on image - they did look pretty emo but I'm actually talking about their music...

If we're talking about their stage presence on the other hand, it was pretty non-existant as three fifths of the band didn't even bother standing on it!

ok, i am judging em musically and professionally, their guitars were horrendously cheap and the tone of the guitars were extremely shit added on by loads of unwanted noise coming from the humbuckers, their drummer was out of time and his fills were crap, lead guitar was shit! overall crap!

I am NO musical expert but I thought Lifeless were ok. FKÜ on the other hand were wicked.... brilliant.... loved em.... great fun.

The Goth dude is called Victor, he's Polish but is of Spanish descent. He is a very unhappy man but likes me because I am very happy, I've known him for about 3 minutes and he hugged me for about 2 of those!

Here is the end of the FKÜ set...

and of course the obligatory pictures: http://www.newmetalarmy.com/events/view/11

Now I need to sleep.... what a fucking awesome weekend, Nocturnus & FKÜ... so tired.

Bloody hell, that was such a good evening! It was fantastic seeing everyone again, we really do need more nights like this.

Doctor Death were loads of fun as usual, Steve's guitar randomly deciding to die was quite hilarious.

Lifeless were ok I guess, not really my kind of thing. Really bad stage presence aswell, one of the guitarists had his back to the audience the whole time!

And finally F.K.U played a blinding set, I really must keep an eye out for these guys in the future, lovely lads!

Also I must add, that guy in the white shirt who was in the pit during F.K.U's set was probably the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Some of the moves he was coming out with were absolutely ridiculous!

That guy was alright, he said I was a great guy and that people should treasure me, ...and ....all because I had a black metal hoody one.... SATAN!! WAAARGH (his words, ..he kept repeating... my name isn't...ah doesn't matter..)

I thought the bands were great tonight, me and donny were late, I had football tonight, but came down afterwards, caught the end of the Dr Death set round the corner having a J, they sounded tight as fuck from out there, but apparently they were having loads of problems, but hey, the bishop song and toxic dead sounded awesome!

Lifeless were quite good I thought, bit of a (more) hardcore twinge, I thought the little covers / intro's were a nice touch, and they were heavier and faster than I thought they'd be, ..which is always good.

FKU were surprise of the night for me, I wasn't expecting them to sound like that at all (perhaps I should re-introduce myself to myspace) guitar wise I thought the tone was great, sounded really chuggy and in tune ( a rare novelty these days.) Great fun, but my need for a cigarette (...or 3 as it turned out) meant I missed the last few, but they sounded really good. Had a cool backdrop as well (can I put anything else in brackets?)

I'm really stoned, have been driving all night, and got stoned some more after meeting some lovely dodgy people for an exchange of sorts, followed by yet more driving. So, all in all, I'm stoned, didn't spent a penny at the bar in ...Bar Monsta (monsta prices? ...sorry Rik!) so that's good, and yeh, I'm home in one piece! (brackets brackets brackets brackets brackets cbrkaec breack et boobies boobies)

Was cool to see so many familiar faces, may our beers make a clinking sound soon, lets all go to a pub, fuck this holiday bollocks, jesus christ. Me and teh billz are going to amsterdam at some point, if you want to come, come and get fucked in the gonads.

He said I was "norwish... you know, tall blonde... norwish". Today I realise he meant Norwegian. He's a funny guy.

Hahaha, that guy was amazing. I bloody loved it. Fucking hell man, FKU are awesome! Such funny guys as well, I went back with them to Jamie's house afterwards for some delicious pizza, and they were bloody hilarious, I love them. I can't wait until next time I see them!

I thought Lifeless were really good, I was really quite surprised to read this negativity about them! I remember not being to keen on them when I first heard their MySpace stuff, but since they put up some new tracks and after seeing them last night, I really thought they were a good band. They could definitely work on improving their stage presence though, I thought the frontman was good and the guitarist in the middle of the stage was cool also, but the other two were just kind of standing there playing... I just think they could do with working on playing on stage as a unit and trying to put a bit more energy across, so their performance matches their music, if you see what I mean. I'm terrible at explaining things sometimes.

Doctor Death were bloody hilarious as always. And they weren't as bad as they thought they were going to be, despite certain hilarious problems. Like I said to them last night though, even a bad Doctor Death show is a good show, because it's so funny seeing the way they deal with all the technial difficulties they seem to always get thrown at them! Despite everything they played really well (apart from that bit where they kind of, well, stopped playing a song... in the middle of it...), and it was good fun watching them. It actually seemed like they had the biggest crowd of the night, which was pretty cool!

It was a shame the turnout wasn't that great, but it was a Sunday night at Bar Monsta after all, so it wasn't too surprising really. Oh well, much fun was still had and it was great. And I'm never buying anything from the fucking horrible Thai vegetarian buffet place ever again. Disgusting. Boy was I glad Jamie ordered pizza afterwards. Thank you very very much.

three hours sleep before work however isnt the best but im fully manning it out

hopefully be back soon, be nice to put some faces to names like

what a "lovely" turnout, plenty of regulars and forumers.

poor old Doctor Death, bless em.its kinda part of the charm these days and almost a regular occurance  they held it together brilliantly as usual.

Lifeless were great.i didnt know what to expect as my first impression of the band on a visual perspective was a mixed reaction.they belted out some really catchy, heavy hardcore/punk style thrash.suicidal tendencies and early punk bands sprang to mind.also one of the best titles ever:"skateboarding vampires".
stage presence needed a bit of work as the guitarists off stage just stood very still/emotionless,the one on the right pretty much had his back to the crowd for the entire set.
yeah Torso,i agree, they would combine well with River Freshney for a gig.

F.K.U were great and really heavy metal thrash with plenty of falsetto in the mix.they had awesome outfits and the best banner ive ever seen at a gig.they have that feelgood comedy vibe about them.
they reminded me of Gama Bomb/Municipal Waste as far as the fun/party elements of thrash go.also a constant pit maintained throughout.
really good crowd considering it was a sunday.they guy in the shirt/no shirt really busted some metal moves
also i love how Dian Wei/Billy got stuck in and joined the mosh.his first charge into the pit ended up knocking madcossack into the side of the bar/on the floor.whoops

overall a lovely night.

Haha, whoops. Yes was a lovely time for all.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Oh yeah that was brilliant: "there's a lot of bad shit happening in the world, a lot of shit that gets brushed under the carpet... this song's about skateboarding vampires!"
