I'm quite happy for all the Opeth fans to go live there.

Re: New Opeth album leaked!!!
Opeth recorded an extra track (which is kind of average) and 3 covers during the sessions for Watershed. 2 of them are also included as bonus tracks on the dvd, but the 3rd track, a cover of Alice in Chain's 'Would?', hasn't been mentioned or heard of since they first announced that they recorded it. I wonder indeed why not for goodness.

Oh yes indeed, that sounds amazing. I do actually remember reading the name Mellotron Heart, but I can't remember where or when.

I really need to get my ticket for the Shepherds Bush gig, I'm going to cry if they sell out.

I think they nearly are sold out, Stargreen sold out of standing tickets I think. The real Shepherds Bush Empire website still has tickets though. I really need to order them quickly, for goodness fuck. God I wish bands wouldn't put tickets on sale so bloody early.

Yeah, why no lyrics?
I just bought this and gave it a listen to. Time for a bit more of an objective track-by-track analysis:
Coil - Shit
Heir Apparent - Shit
The Lotus Eater - Shit
Burden - Shit
Porcelain Heart - Shit
Hessian Peel - Shit
Hex Omega - Shit
Not really. But really, what a load of hype this got.
Coil - Intro pretty much. A nice song with a woman who sounds like she was in The Corrs. Nothing to get excited about but not terrible.
Heir Apparent - Oh, an Opeth song. This is what Opeth do and it's fine. Still, the term song is being used loosely really. It just jumps from bit to bit with little reason. Prog suggests progressive. That is it moves from here to here. This is often cut-and-paste questionables.
The Lotus Eater - More of the same really. Some really good musicianship on this one. Actually, on all the songs there is good instrumentation and the solos are really nice and tasteful throughout. Shame about the structures.
Burden - Actually very good. This has an extended instrumental section which is really good and it's an actual cohesive song. Good.
Porcelain Heart - Another good song. Ironically, the criticism this time is it's not mixed up enough. It builds up really well and could burst into a deathier moment but instead it remains the same. Not bad but they could have done this better.
Hessian Peel - Back to standard Opeth territory. But it does sound better. More fluid. I reckon given more time this could be the standout.
Hex Omega - Haven't really listened to this one yet. But it sounds quite good. This album definitely improves in the later tracks.
I'm not Antipeth but I won't just suck their dong for something to do. I liked Damnation a lot and the tracks I heard from Blackwater Park were good. They can clearly write songs and riffs but it often seems that later Opeth is random with concern for structure, cohesion or progression. Well, that's my view.

I heard an Opeth song yesterday. It was acoustic. I didn't dislike it.
