Founded US Steel and is worth $300bn. He's probably better known in American than Willie. I'd say Gordon Brown is probably better known than Willie in Britain just now too. Alistair Darling as well.

Nah. I live in America. You line 10 Americans up, ask them which they've heard of and it'll be 10-0 for groundskeeper Willie.

I do ... :-k

John K has put Biomechanical on a permanent 'hiatus'

i think theres a detailed blog on it on the Earache website, or there used to be.

Of the original band, John K has his own company an is now working on film scores.

Chris Webb ( guitars) and the drummer Matt went on to form rock band Solsikk. ( I think they played BOA last year, not sure tho)

Jon, the bass, qualified from uni and as far as I know isnt doing anything much in music, although he comes from a classically trained musical family.

Not sure about Jamie Hunt, though I do know he worked in schools as a guitar teacher.

Not very often i disagree with Atom, but I have to say that they were absolutely amazing live.

I reckon I must have seen them 20-30 times over the years they were together. All good guys.

That is, IF they got a good sound. If not, the complex music and technical wizadry could make it sound completely dire.

and definitely an acquired taste.

8 moons was an accomplished debut, and I personally thought Empires bettered it.

The third album, Cannibalised, moved more towards the film scoring- and it was a step too far I think for most tastes. i find it hard to listen to. but I have no doubts that ego or not,
john K is a very talented man.

Lovely band

I asked Gus Drax on facebook and he just said they are on a break right now, a pretty long break. Cannibalized is my favorite, its just so unique and I love the weird bassy production that distorts on every speaker i listen to it on but in a good way if you know what i mean.

Biomechanical were one of the most promising uk metal bands about imo, I really thought they were going to take it all the way.
