not really, most crossover band members are complete metalhead, their music jst has alot of punk influence, sort of like a neoclassical shred guitars adding in elements of classical music cause it sounds good

I love Crossover. Leeway and Rumble Militia are vastly underrated.

Just listening to D.R.I. - "Crossover" defines the sound.
Don't forget to mention the mighty Cro-Mags - especially the "Best Wishes" opus.
The Crossover scene was more than just a musical wave as well. Once upon a time, a long-haired guy who went to a Hardcore gig was likely to get his arsed kicked. I had this problem when I went to see The Exploited, Conflict & Charged G.B.H. in the early 80s.
The concept of "Crossover" was bridge that helped stopped that kind of mentality - fostered by bands like D.R.I, Cro-mags, Agnostic Front, etc.
S.O.D. was a reaction to the Crossover movement that already existed - Anthrax members trying to tap into that vibe.

Crossover thrash is good nand all that but the world doesn't need another crossover band. Ever.

I'm gonna stick my neck out here and say there is no such thing.
I would say they are one and the same thing, it's just semantics. The terms Speed Metal and Thrash Metal were interchangeable in the mid 80s. A band like Jaguar were called Speed Metal, before Thrash became a catch-all phrase.

Re: "crossover Thrash" what is it exactly?
hmmm , crossover thrash basically is the more party hard style of hardcore punk ..
instead of bands jumping round shouting "we dont need drugs to mosh out "
crossover gave most of the kids what they wanted , fast beer drinking mayhem
it sparked alot of metal fans to party with punks more too , thats why you see kids with shaved heads and suicidal tendencies caps
its one fucking amazing sound
if your wanting some decent hard hitting crossover thrash , just ask man

crossovers whatever you want it to be to certain degree dedpending on your point of view, because in your opinion a band is to punk to be metal or to metal to be punk. english dogs a punk band done two pure metal albums not what i would call crossover, but thats my opinion.onslaught started as a punk band but definetly ain't crossover now,but i also think early kreator, sodom and celtic frost(hellhammer) sound as much punk as they do do metal and they also ain't crossover.also a lot of crust bands sound quite metallish so does that make them crossover?anyway i'm boring myself now so i shall shut up.

Re: "crossover Thrash" what is it exactly?
^^ Makes plenty o' sense to me! Crossover was only ever a term used to describe music that 'crossed over' in genres... 'Crossover thrash' simply being the mix between thrash/metal and punk... quite simple really, basic answer is D.R.I.
