Been reading Henry Rollins' Black Coffee Blues series of books recently and it got me to go back and listen to the Rollins Band again. Forgot how bloody heavy and awesome they were. Had a look to see if I could snap up a copy of "End Of Silence" and "Come In And Burn" but it appears that they are like gold dust. Maybe something to do with the legal dispute Rollins went through with Imago records.

Never really checked out Rollins Band apart from when pissing about. I'm sure I prefered the earlier stuff. I think I should probably improve my Black Flag collection (lost My War, leaves me only with Damaged... :-()

It was from the same creator, so they were ripping themselves off.
I wish Henry Rollins was my dad.

Managed to get The End Of Silence off eBay for £10. Not as good as Weight but still some cracking tracks.

You should definitely check out his books if you get the chance. Quote from Black Coffee Blues:

"June 18 1991. 8.28pm Los Angeles CA:

The guy from a band called Pantera called me today. How the hell he got my number I'll never know."

Saw him at the Bally's health club in Chicago a few years ago. He was running round the track. Pursued by about 30 fanboys bothering him all the way round. Funny as fuck it was. :)

I believe he's doing some spoken word shows in the new year. I urge everyone to go, he's fantastic - both funny and thought provoking. Although heed my advice and go to the toilet before he starts. I assumed there would be an intermission and nearly wet myself 2 hours in.

Yep, he is playing London on 15th Jan:

He has said that he may be arranging dates for the Edinburgh Festival next year in his blog so I will be keeping my eyes peeled for that.

He showed up last night acting on the season 2 premiere of "Sons Of Anarchy", playing a neo-Nazi. Looks like he'll be in the show for most of this season.

I love Rollins, start with SOA, through FLAG and all his solo stuff (End Of Silence rips). The early solo stuff is best though. Saw him live on his spoken word tour many years ago. Very entertaining.

Hoping to be able to get to that one as it's only just down the road a bit from me. I saw him there last year and he was utterly brilliant.
