I just watched the first two episodes again yesterday. I love the bit at the beginning of the second where Silvio does one of his bad impressions of Michael Corleone, "Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in!" And they all laugh and Paulie goes "Fuckin' spitting' image!" Makes me lsugh every bloody time.

Sopranos is ace. My favourite part in the whole of it is when Paulie goes the the psyic group and gets pissed off, then throws a chair at the wall and shouts "FUCKING QUEERS!!!". Excellent.

Also, I hate people who don't get the ending of the last episode.

Go on then, tell us what the ending means. I don't get it.

And yeah, that bit with Paulie at the psychic group is fucking brilliant! I also like it when cousin Tony is going into business with the Korean dude, and and Paulie's advice to him is, "A word to the wise my friend: remember Pearl Harbour!" I chuckled a lot.

Well I thought that might be the case as the evidence strongly points towards it... but I bet he's not. Because if it was someone avenging Phil Leotardo, would it not have been someone we know who would've killed him, not that guy in the toilet, who was possibly just put in there to tease viewers as everyone would be saying "OMG! THE GODFATHER!!!1111"

Well, the way I see it is like this:
A few episodes before the final one, Bobby is talking to Tony about death and in the conversation he says that when it happens you won't even know. Then, every episode up until the last one Tony keeps flashing back to that conversation where Bobby says that. THEN, when he's in the diner surrounded by shifty looking people, it just goes black... Like he's just been killed, the way Bobby said it would be.

That's the way I see it.

Yeah, and it kind of makes sense, especially if you observe the pattern of the camera angles, the alternating between the camera pointing at Tony looking towards the door, and then the door from his perspective; you see him look up to the door as Meadow comes in, then where it should be his perspective it just goes black, meaning perhaps he had been killed at that moment. Also the fact that the whole show has been about Tony, so when he dies, our glimpse into his life ends.

But then again, him dying at the end just seems too obvious an end for a show that constantly does what you don't expect. Things like Melfi never telling Tony about the rape, Meadow never finding out what Jackie Jr's death was really about, things like that, that you'd expect to happen in the hands of lesser, more predictable writers. The ending could've merely meant nothing - other than the fact that our glimpse into Tony's life has ended, and his life will carry on much the same, as this is the kind of life that doesn't end, you can't get out of it, and so the writers could never find a realistic way of tying up the end of every storyline.

Christ alshittingmighty, the last episode of series 2 is amazing, bloomin crust. The rest of the series is good, but probably not as good as any other series. But the last episode (and the storyline leading up to it) definitely makes up for it.

Another great thing about the Sopranos is the music used at the end of each episodes - some of the songs they use are absolutely brilliant and sometimes are significant to the plot of the episode. For example, in the episode where Ralphie is made capo, they use 'The Captain' by Kasey Chambers and in the episode where Richie is finally killed after causing so much conflict they use 'I saved the world today' by the Eurythmics and finish with a shot of Tony just sitting there looking amazing.

My favourite song used in an episode of the Sopranos is 'When it's cold I'd like to die' by Moby. It's at the end of the episode where Tony is in a coma and he's in this dream world in his subconcious and he returns to his hotel room and picks up the phone but ceases dialing. It's very touching and sad, because you don't know what is going to happen to Tony. It's also very touching when Uncle Junior sings that song at the end of season 3 at Jackie Jnr.'s funeral/wake thing.

Waaaaaaa I could honestly talk about and wank over The Sopranos all day. Please come to the Saturday gig, Johnny, so that we can have a big mafia wank all over each other.

Yeah, I think I'm pretty much sorted now for Saturday thanks to Savage Messiah, so it should be lovely. Bloody hell. I just realised as well after watching The Godfather Part II that Uncle Junior is in it, which is nice. Yeah, I remember when he sings in the Sopranos, it's bloody brilliant.

And christ al-titting-mighty, that whole dream sequence thing when Tony's in a coma is amazing. I was blown away by how amazing it was when it ended, when in real life Tony is having some sort of seizure madness, and Meadow's calling him, and in the dream he's looking towards the house and keeps looking back towards the trees, and he can hear a child's voice calling him... bloody hell dsfkjhadslfjahsdlfaiuertyoqeriutyoqreit that is one of my favourite bits of the whole thing!

Oh yes and I forgot to say, I think I might throw a chair at Martin on Saturday shouting "fucking QUEEEEEERS!" Well ok, I won't, but let's pretend I will and have a hilarious time.
