Nightwish perhaps?

Postby jonny_boy34 on Wed May 23, 2007 1:28 pm

Hello. I used to be quite a big Nightwish fan, but I got very bored of them a while ago. But nevertheless, I was interested to hear their new stuff, especially with the new singer. They've put a clip of the new single Eva on nightwish.com. The front cover to the single is hilariously awful, but they're giving all the profit to charity for some reason, which is nice. But the song is very, well.... disney. I don't like it. And I don't really like the new singer. She's much more of a normal pop singing woman, which is a bloody shame, because the operatic glory of Tarja was mainly what I thought made Nightwish stand out. It looks like now they're just about to become a generic gay sort-of-metal band. There's actually no hint of metal in this new song at all, but then again it's only a short clip. On the plus side though, their new album apparently has a 14 minute song on it. Perhaps Eva is just the commercial gay song to sell some albums and there will be some good stuff on the actual thing.

But does anyone care? I don't really care that much, despite the fact I've just typed out this post. But this poncey sort of metal doesn't really do for me anymore what it used to.

That eva song is the gayest thing ever. I never listen to Nightwish now, and I entirely blame you for me ever listening to them. I used to like Kinslayer from Wishmaster.

I've always disliked Nightwish. I hate them, and I want them to get brain tumours... IN THEIR BRAINS :x

:lol: Shit, I knew should never have posted this. But luckily I don't really like them very much anymore, and I basically said that in my original post so you know I'm not making it up just to cover up my secret gayness. Of which there is none. :?

Although every now and again I will still listen to Wishmaster and secretly enjoy it.

That's not bad, I've got the soundtrack to the film, Labrynth... What? David Bowie is cool! (and in that film, he's got a proper big bulge hanging out of those tights).

I'm not gay.

Really? I thought Sonata Arctica were?

They're one of my fave bands actually, maybe I'm immune? :lol:

As for Nightwish, Wishmaster is the only decent album in my eyes

Nightwish = Goatse.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

How ironic. Nightwish were one of the first female led vocal bands to be taken seriously and Within Temptation were seen by many as copyists. Now, after that short clip, it's seems evident that Nightwish are depserate to copy Within Tempation.
