Been thinking about getting Plants Vs Zombies, is it worth the cash or shall I not bother?

Oh it is worth it by miles and miles. It's only like 7 quid anyway.

Im a game tester by profession so playing at home doesnt really happen ... with the exception of Championship Manager (but kinda mastered that game now by 2020something)

Besides of that always Smashbrothers Melee foursome. Best game ever!

Modern games are only easy if you play them on easy difficulty. Try playing God of War on the PS2 on God Mode, and you'll cry forever. It's actually as hard as Contra!

Yeah but JK, getting past the first level on EASY mode on Contra will take some time to get past! HARDEST mode... shudder.

Well I think the main difference is, old games are so unforgiving, it was like, 3 credits, no autosave, or no save system, or some shoddy password thing... games were an absolute bastard.

From watching the Angry Video Game Nerd videos on youtube though and playing a lot of shoddy retro games, I can conclude that there was probably a lot more shitter games back in the day, but when they were good, they were amazing.

I don't know, I think that last bit still applies today. The gaming industry has become a lot more like the film and music ones, there are so many shit games around still, because they are rubbish and mainstream and commercial, and not made with any true love. Those kind of games will have a sort of crappy quality to them and be very shoddy. Then you get your Metal Gear Solids, God of Wars, Ico/Shadow of the Colossus etc, that are made with absolute love and dedication, and the quality is top notch is every single way. But I still find that brilliant games, I mean actual proper brilliant games, are pretty few and far between these days.

I just think in terms of sheer volume, there was a lot more duffer ones back then (probably because companies were a lot smaller and didn't have quality control etc), other than that, the industry still produces amazing games and utter shit ones.

I just purchased Killer Instint for my SNES for the 50th time - the amount of times I'e sold this game is mad - so does anyone else remember just how fucking awesome it was? I remember the phrase 'C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER' very very well
