I know a cool Baloff story, about his 'chopper trout'

Close - it was "helicopter trout", not "chopper trout". And you're right - the Ratt fan wasn't killed.

I wish I could vote for them both!!...But I chose Bonded by Blood in the end, just because I felt it deserved more recognition than it has had already....But realy,I love them both.

The mainsteam describe Master of Puppets as 'metal's finest hour',I now want to know what thrashers today prefer.

So...Master Of Puppets,or Kill Em All?

I'll put my vote in ::KILL EM ALL.

Damn right Kill 'em All (against Pastor of Muppets). I tried to listen to MofP recently and the album is just so dang tame in comparison to what else was being released in '86.

I listened to Ride the Lightning at like, 5:30am this morning because I was bored - it would be so much better if Tom Hunting had drummed, if Metallica had a more tasteful lead player and if Eric A.K. had sang on it instead of James.

:D

Hell yeah. Darkness Decends, Pleasure to Kill - MOP pales in comparison to those two.

KEA is on of the first thrash albums ever, the only reason why 'tallica sound like they do on this album is Dave Mustaine's influence into Hetfield's playing. After Mustaine (and his influence) was gone, Metallica started to pussy out and write slow tracks and they released the extremely overrated RTL (my least fave of the 3).

Master Of Puppets is one of my favourite metal albums (I don't count it as thrash; there's like 2 songs that can be called thrash XD ), the song writing is great, good lyrics, sure the drums suck and it's all a little tame for "Thrash", but the production is solid and chunky and the guitars sound pretty phat. Also it sounds like an album, through and through, unlike Kill 'Em All, which lacks the same continuity :D

kill 'em all is good, but bonded by blood gets my vote every time. i prefer the riffery in bonded by blood, and every song on that album has its own unique qualities. i mean, metal command, piranha, strike of the beast!!!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa come on :rockdevil: :rockdevil: :rockdevil: :rockdevil: :rockdevil: damn ive gotta put it on now...

Bonded by Blood!

Kill 'em All also kicks ass, but BBB is just pure ownage over KEA, I mean, just the first thing that's come into my head are Baloff's vocals. Goddamn, unique, original, no talent whatsoever and they kick ass!

Thanx for the feedback on the subject of Metallica lads.I always thought as much about the preferance between Kill Em All and Master O Puppets.

One thing I notice about the mainstream rock press(in Classic Rock magazine)is that people are PROBABLY starting to listen to 'real' metal fans preferances instead of the masses with regards to Iron Maiden.

I've heard people say to me how much they prefer the Diano era(NWOBHM) to the Dickinson era.

Classic Rock magazine are no saying that the first album 'Iron Maiden' has never been bettered by any subsequent Maiden release. It was more raw and in your face back then!Just imagine how heavy that album would have sounded if it were 1980 now!!...With the exception of Motorhead of course.

WOW great thread!

Kill Em All for Me. I prefer listening to the BBB songs on the live album "another lesson in violence". More meaty. You also get baloff screaming "i love heavy" during instrumental parts
