button bashing is acceptable(as long as the controllers stay intact and dont end up with teeth marks) :D
if anyone is caught playing with one hand whilst bashing something else in the other hand (ie;their bishop) then i will grass them up to the owner(after filming it for youporn of course!)

Well this is why I've always found games like Street Fighter hella annoying, because there's about 535983589 different moves that you've got to memorise off by heart to get anywhere.

It looks nice and is satisfying when you win, but otherwise... give me smash brothers anyday, that seperates the men from the boys. (And no, not "The boys play smash bros because it's a kids game", shut up RIGHT NOW)

Button bashers will lose,as they will become predictable rather quickly.
they are nothing compared to the strategic warriors who have studied the art of the d-pad and shoulder buttons.

besides, the moves were so basic on sf2(up to sf2turbo)compared to the insane combos in 3D and even 2D games of today.

Tekken is the only game I'll play to prove my manliness.

DOA is awful. You press X to do a pretty damaging grapple attack. That's it. Press X, and you've nearly won. Crap fight.

Soulcalibur II was very nice, especially since you could play as Link on the Cube version.

That was the only reason I bought it, I don't think I even played as any of the other characters.

All about mitsurugi.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Its actually not that difficult at all, each character has 2/3 (occasionally 4) moves and throws, which are very, very easy to do. Each special move requires a certain combination of hits on the buttons and once you know the two kinds of special moves, in theory, you know them all.

There are charge moves - For example, charge back for two seconds forward, punch. Used by Guile, Chun Li, Bison, Balrog, Vega etc...

Then there are standard combination specials - Down, diagonal right, right, punch. Used by Ryu, Ken, Dhalsim, Sagat etc...

Once you learn these simple moves you will find that all the characters can do the moves with similar, if not the same combinations.

Ryu, Ken, Sagat and Dhalsim have similar, if not the same moves, some slight variations which don't take long to figure out.

Anyway, like all fighting games, the special moves are only part of it. If you were good enough you could win without even using one. Its all about timing and knowledge of your opponent.

Back to training...
