You shouldn't have to have everything put in front of your face. People are bloody spoilt by the internet...

yeah, that's true, but the internet has so much stuff on it that a lot of people don't even know where to begin looking!!!! a little bit of promotion never goes amiss in such a crazy place
anyways, in the 80s I bet zines didn't just appear in peoples hands, and they couldn't just look for them, they were sent out with tapes and stuff, which is essentially the equivalent of posting about it on a forum surely??

Does no one apart from me still buy things mail order, get flyers in the post, write off to places etc?

I do think that paypal is a fair and sensible modern solution for mailorder etc, its a lot quicker for a start, BUT there is certainly somethin to be said for receveing black and white photocopies of mailorder catalogues and zines and all that sort of lovely stuff. the trouble is where do you look to find these places out these days?? its hard to find anything with out using the internet! but in response to harris, its not hard to find anything if you have a bit of time and google. i dont think the fact that they havent promoted their specific zines on our specific board is a fair reason for your arguement at all, its a ridiculous thing to say infact! if you want to find some metal or even more specifically thrash zines it wnt be hard to spend an hour on google and then sending a couple of emails. the real challange is how do you do it these days, without using the internet...?

I wouldn't even know where to start!
I'm at Uni in a tiny little Welsh town, where the majority of people listen to Nightwish and that ilk. I'm guessing there isn't some underground thrash tape trading circuit that I'm missing...
The internet helps to keep the masses collective ear to the ground.

No, sorry, sold them all. Contact Flo through the MySpace address someone posted on the last page to get some! I might get some more from him, as it's cool to spread his words! Will post here if I do.

Doesn't the fact that Flo has a Myspace kind of negate your moaning Bill?
It isn't Aberystwyth (sp?) by any chance is it?

dude, I knew about Thrash Attack and Thrash Assault zines when they were first out I'm just saying that it doesn't hurt to ask people to spread the word of goodness and thrash!!! A little word of mouth promotion never goes amiss on the net!!!

It is indeed.
You're not gonna tell me that there actually is a decent music scene here, are you?
Because when I made those statements I was banking on no-one knowing where I was talking about...

Well that's where Craig, the other UK Thrash admin, goes to uni. If he counts as a 'scene' by himself, then I guess Aberystwyth is the place to be!
