London is just plain spoilt for gigs. I always assume there is atleast 1 band a night you can see from a choice of 3 or 4. It being the capital means it will always be the same, more people = more money.

LA is well gay for gigs, San Francisco and Portland all the way baby.

One thing America has over the UK is its DIY attitude, sure there are DIY promoters in every town in the UK.

America do it better hosting gigs in basements/shops after hours. The best gig I have ever been to was Ghoul/FKU and Engorged with a support band in a warehouse in Oakland. Apparently had opened over night because the old venue got closed down, it was a abattoir during the day at night it was avenue called the meat locker (how killer would of that been!)

All these of these venues are dryhouses (meaning no beer) or have a beer tax on the door on top of the door fee and you bring your own. Never any problems cause people want to see the bands,not OMGZ I got so drunk and crowd surfed to the Circle Jerks 15 times in one song.

There are bands around in the UK doing that sort of thing. I've been to a couple of gigs held in houses, and I know of a lass that has a basement she uses to put on bands.

Steve has the right idea. I had to miss the last gig, unfortunately, I can't remember why.

However, this might be my first day out of hospital and, if this is the case, the doctors have given me the go ahead to socialise. I really want to go to a gig and this seems to make perfect sense. Skeletonwitch are solid on record and Warbringer, while occasionally a bit too generic, have some stormers. If I can make this, I will definitely be there (though probably not pitting much, sadly....)

Warbringer's last album was pretty badass stuff I reckon. Their debut sucks shit though, I even said that to John Kevill last summer. Which admittedly, wa a bit coarse.
