Much better than St Anger at least.

Yeah but who cares if it's better than St. Anger? That's not a reason to buy an album.

Moths, bedtimes.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Re: The Official New Metallica Album Thread
Boring for the first half, if I want to hear a metal ballad with E/D/B/C I'll listen to No Prayer For The Dying, thank you very much. The heavy bit is also a bit boring, but kind of alright when it gets fast. Actually no, it's not, they've just basically tried to make a modern One. The harmonies are alright though I suppose. But all the riffs are rubbish. The ending's really shit as well. It's a bit of a shame, I can hear that they're really trying to be good again, and it's not that bad I suppose, but it's really nothing to shout about. The main reason to like this is the relief that it's not St Anger, but as Martin basically pointed out, being better than St Anger is not a reason to like it, unless it's an absolute billion times better. And it's only a bit better, not enough really to make me excited about new Metallica. I'll definitely give the rest of the album a chance (ie. download) though, there's got to be some better songs than this on there!
Oh and one more thing, I fucking hate the drums! The way they're played, the way they sound, it just sounds like an idiot drum kit played by an idiot drummer. It annoys the hell out of me and ruins all the potentially good bits. Rubbish, next?
