I'd be really surprised if Ian gave us any less than 8/10. I'm hoping for 9/10 though.

It also seems to have become a promotional vessel for some of the writers own bands and projects and personal tastes, i can agree with the covering of all aspects of extreme music but i fail to understand the seemingly constant obsession with noisecore and uber-doom bands which seem to have infested the majority of the magazine for the past 6 months or so i mean Genghis Tron?! Boris?! Jex Thoth?! Terrorizer was once a reliable source of information for the more extreme end of the metal market under the former editor but now it's gone sadly downhill. What a shame.
Spot on mate, this echoes my exact thoughts about Terrorizer, only I stopped reading it a few issues ago. It's become a very poor magazine indeed since Joe Stannard took over, and is now in my opinion a complete waste of money.

I think they're slightly overobsessed with finding the most obscure acts going, they've kind of lost sight of their readership..

Re: UK Thrash in Terrorizer
seriously, i rememeber saying to ian a while back that i was getting fed up with the way it was going. I want to read a review of a CD to find out what it sounds like, how good the production is, and come away with an idea as to wether id want that CD or not. I dont want to read a review to have to get my thesarus out to work out what the fucjk the reviewer is trying to say, if anything. Too many reviews were becoming self indulgent litery masterbations that did nothing to make me want to hear or buy the releases they were penned for.

What like:
"The production tastes like the sound of an oblong purple square floating in an ostrich".
As opposed to:
"The production is well crusty, but you might like that sort of thing".
I know what you mean and I don't dig it!

It would be unfair and unprofessional of me to join in with this conversation, but suffice to say you don't lose three people from the top and keep the magazine the same.

No, not yet. I've prodded them twice about it too. I'll have to sharpen my stick to a point and prod them again.

Make sure they get called The Hospital Death.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

I bet WH Smith staff can spot rockers a mile off, as they will leaf through the metal mags in store for ages!!
This is also true for me and White Dwarf (warhammer magazine), because I refuse to pay £4 (at least) for what is mostly a bunch of pictures.
Roughly back on topic though, I actually sent a bunch of replies to Dom Lawson from Metal Hammer after he contacted UKT about a feature - he hasn't told me if it is making it into the mag yet, but fingers crossed it will get some sort of inclusion soon!

Re: UK Thrash in Terrorizer
I agree with the folks accusing Terrorizer of a downward trend. Ultimately, you can predict what albums will do well and not so well and the reviews are normally as pretentious as the music it's meant to be reviewing. A great shame because it was the only mag I regularly followed, along with Red Pepper.
How's White Dwarf these days? I haven't looked at that for years!

It is basically a catalogue these days.
I used to enjoy it where they actually worked on the worlds they were creating, rather than just pushing their new line of lead.
