Yeah, what a shame indeed I didn't meet you Norsey, everyone ran off to the back but I wanted to stay in the crowd down below where the atmosphere was much better and there wasn't as much talking through the quiet bits (idiot Opeth fans), so I win. It was amazing, fucking hell, I love Opeth. They make me want to cry with so much joy. The new songs were amazing, especially Heir Apparent. The Lotus Eater was also amazing but the sound was a bit of a shame and it was a bit muddy. Deliverance was fucking hell bloody unbelievable! The ending made me ejaculate seven hundred and two times. What else was amazing... Godhead's Lament, unbelievable, bloody hell! And Hope Leaves was fucking brilliant, Fred's guitar solo at the end was pure sex up the arse. He really is bloody good. Bleak was amazing, The Drapery Falls was amazing (but perhaps not the right song to finish a set on), but the best bit was when Mikael played the melody from the beginning of Hessian Peel, paused, and said "Make sure you come back next time." I nearly cried with joy... but now I'll be very upset if they don't play Hessian Peel next time!
Anyway everything else was amazing, Cynic was nice but I couldn't always hear what was going on at the back, but the bloody hell the drummer's incredible. Wonderful stuff. Caught the end of The Ocean, didn't seem to impressive really.
All in all, another unbelievable Opeth fun time. It was also really good to see Mikael running around everywhere, I've never seem him that excited before, it looks like he's more confident now and not just standing still all the time. Maybe he's finally realised how amazing his music is. Whatever reason, bloody lovely.
Oh yes actually, the best bit! We came out of the venue to see Stefan, the organiser of the Melloboat, handing out flyers for next year's festival! Bloody hilarious. We said hello then he gave some flyers to me and my beardy friend Paul to hand out, so we did. And then suddenly I felt someone peering at the flyer over my shoulder... and how about that, it's Roger Wooton, the mental singer of Comus! He was a lovely man and we said hello and told him how amazing he was for a few minutes. And then even more hilariously, a couple of guys from Leafhound came over, which was brilliant, so we had the best most hilarious time ever talking about Metalbrew and Melloboat and all hilarious things.
And I also got a lovely Watershed t-shirt. So basically, that was a very amazing evening!
