I voted ND from that list.
Modern 'death' is totally limp. What weak garbage, the more extreme they try and be, the less extreme it becomes.
It was Trey Azagthoth himself who said:
Just because a band has blast beats and growled vocals, it doesn't mean its death metal, death metal is about a feeling.
POW!

Agreed!
Sick of beatdowns
Sick of their hardcore dancing and their "fuck push moshing" stance
Push moshing is THE greatest - no one wants to chin their mates in a pit

Gaz, its been too long brother! i miss you, glad you are going to be posting more on here!
Yes its got to be ND from the list, i didn't know that ENT were really classed as death, i always had them down as crust, i guess they do crossover a bit, but not really like ND did. Carcass are a close 2nd...

I'd say Nebs are one of the most underrated and overlooked bands on the UK metal scene, they are so pummelling its untrue. More than just a thrash band, more than just a grind band, more than just death... and a million miles from what people would generally call punk or hardcore, yet, they fuse it all perfectly and execute it with the right attitude and flare that makes them incredibly compelling... although don't tell Donny i said that!
(and yeah, i'm coming to rock out with you some time soon, whether you like it or not!)

Init - i feel like we're licking their arses cos they're mates - but seriously i can't get enough of them
Failure = Destruction at my funeral
Can't wait for their latest release
You heard seregon's KINGDOM OF THE BLIND?
It's like a perfect mix of old sepultura riffs and drumming with Vader's vocals
Vain Affinity has a beautiful acoustic bit in the middle - truly epic

Re: Favourite British Death Metal?
that list just reminds me why I prefer US DM - even 5 of the top 10 best uk bands were shite.

There's no touching USDM really, the Magnificent one speaks truth. In fact in all types of extreme metal the UK is a bit of a flop compared to the US and Europe, though I think our mastery of traditional metal is pretty indisputable at least!

I remember watchin MW and some 'hardcore' kiddy jumped into me/shoved me in the back, when I was takin a breather out of the pit, no-one else behind me was moshing, and neither was he, just being a prick!!! I tried to chuck him into the pit but he fell over....
