I used to take loads of em to chester zoo for the day out, it was brutal. Downs folks are well strong, like mega fucking strong and when they get going there's not a lot you can do to stop it.

When I was at college I was with two of my mates; a girl and a guy....

He started going on about how annoyed he was getting with all the people with downs that are all over our college (I don't really care so...) and he was really hammmering the issue until the girl piped up with the info that her brother had downs. There was no "I am really offended by that" or anything just a "my brother has downs syndrome..." and brutal blast beat silence

Well, in a similar vein... today, I read something at work on the notepad (like a messageboard on the local intranet zing), where employees were reminiscing, sort of romantically, about funny calls they'd had at work.

There was loads of lighthearted ones, and then one comment read: "That old man was funny, he never knew what he was doing haha, I wonder what happened to him". The next comment, and last one... i.e, none were left afterwards (and this was in March), just said: "Oh yeah, that man was so and so, he sadly died when he was on the phone to me".

Muted. Destroyed the banter completely. No more stories. Tone massively lowered.

There are only really two ways out of that situation:

- Do a Martin and shout 'NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!'

- Do what my wee brother would do, e.g. point and laugh at her then say something like 'Nae luck, ya bitch!'
