I hardly ever listen to music in bed, because I usually end up listening to the whole album by mistake. This happened a few weeks ago with Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.

My favourite chill out album though is probably Roxy Music's Avalon.

I like to fall asleep to proggy type bands. King Crimson, Tool, Opeth (Damnation especially), Mars Volta and Comus if I can handle it. Temple of the Dog too, though that ain't proggy much.

I don't really like falling asleep to music much but sometimes it's good when you're really pissed.

What about waking up albums? Sometimes I go straight for the heavy or else something only a little heavy. Fugazi are good for the latter.

I usually find myself listening to Goodnight Kiss when I'm just drifting off to sleep, the solo really is one of the most lovely things ever.

A bit of Queensryche usually goes down well at bed time aswell I find.

Ditto. But then, I had insomnia for quite a long time. I tend to drift off during the three-quarter mark of an album and wake up again on the second last song or so. It's probably because I haven't gone fully to sleep but it's annoying nonetheless. I stopped listening to Death Metal in bed pretty quickly because I remember there being some weird panning on the vocals on a Suffocation album. Imagine the intro to Hell Awaits but when you're barely aware of what's going on around you...
