Defenders of The Earth. Defenders.

Out of the sky, his rockets ignite, jets into battle flying faster than light. Flash Gordon.
Lord of the Jungle, the hero who stalks the beast call him brother. The ghost who walks. Phantom.
Defenders of The Earth.

Master of magic spells and illusion. Enemies crumble in fear and confusion. Mandrake.
Defenders of The Earth.

His strength is a legend, his skill conquers all. On with his power we never will fall. Lothar.
Defenders of the Earth.

With our new young heroes proving their worth, four become eight, defending the Earth
Defenders of The Earth. Defenders. Defenders of The Earth.

I agree 100% with this post.

Also hong kong phooey was the 70's, and captain caveman was around then I believe too.

Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. For some reason I fancied Leonardo. HE'S A FUCKING TURTLE! Anyway.

The only other cartoons I really remember watching were the Shoe People, The Simpsons and Care Bears. The best were things like Thomas the Tank Engine, Charlie Chalk and Postman Pat.

Here is an episode of Arson Sam for your enjoyment.

Yeh, I think I much prefered British stop motion stuff as a kid, as opposed to American cartoons. I was still a big Turtles and X-men fan though.

Does anyone remember T-Rex? That was badass too.

There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"

Prime, i don't even remember this topic.

I've currently been watching loads of Road Runner cartoons as they're still as funny as when i was 7. Apart from that The Battletech cartoon, Rocko's Modern Life, Skeleton Warriors, Spider, Batman The Animated Series.. loads basically loads and loads.

I could talk about cartoons all day.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

yeah cartoons rule!
i think any of us aged between 20-35 had the best choice in an era where there were 4channels on tv(or 20 odd if you had a Sky satellite dish!) and the video games and animation advanced at a nice pace. now i think everything today is way too advanced and so disposable/chewed up and spat out and we are too spoilt for choice with everything. the world is changing Arrrrgh im getting old.

this was my fave of all:

very underrated compared to the more obvious chioces of Transformers/Thundercats.i still have all 3 on dvd and i think this ranks equally as decent.it didnt get a PAL release (yet)i got the region 1 dvd release and i suppose, having just 35 episodes could be the reason it didnt become as popular as some of the other cartoons.still it was cool though.

i think the cartoons which combined sci-fi and fantasy elements were best.

Such an amazing show! I was fortunate enough to have sky in the 90's as well, the channels today just don't compare. I mean Nic used to be amazing, and Fox Kids.

What about....

and as previously mentioned Defenders Of The Earth was one of my favourites ever!

yeah Bill having a Sky satellite dish was the nuts even though we only had it a limited few years :( .
although channel 1 and 3 in the afternoons after school and on saturday morning were the best.also every morning of the summer holidays from 6am-12noon there was shitloads of cartoons on(running in chronological order too  )
now there is nothing like that anymore.its just a childrens section/category full of japanese animes and off the wall/whacky cartoons ie:spongebob etc.
theres not much of the stop motion stuff anymore either(except pingu)

anyway speaking of wicked theme tunes James, check out this clip(and part 2,3,4..etc)
nothing beats a digitaljy rockin, glory theme(always narrated/introduced in the good vs evil way, before the song kicks in) :rockdevil:

I think the lack of crazy guitar solos and amazing riffs in cartoons are why so many kid are oblivious to good metal nowadays...

Also from watching modern cartoons the lack of stuff being blown the shit out of and talking skeletons.
