My copy turned up too! It slays.

Also, PERFECT production. I wish more contemporary bands went for this organic sound, it is clear and face-meltingly heavy but still sounds like humans playing.

Brilliant album! My only gripe is that it's too long; NO heavy metal album needs to be over an hour long whatever the band!

I've been masturbating to my copy for a few days now. Exceptional!

Yeah, it depends on the band, and in this case the length well justified due to the nature of their music. There're only 9 songs on it! Although it could probably do without Deoxyribonucleic Acid, probably the only song that isn't particularly great on the album, although it's not bad, just not as amazing as the others.

And I know a few aamzing metal albums over an hour. Brave New World for example? And there isn't one song you could take off there!

I never realised BNW was over an hour, but that may explain why I often didn't get to the last few tracks in one playing. Clearly it's just me and my attention span, but I do think there's a case for albums retaining a sense of an LP's time-limit.

Can't agree there, I think especially a style like Vektor's makes it's musical statement very effectively by about the 40 minute mark. Of course some of the ambient interludes are great, but that could still be factored into a shorter record. For me it reduces the amazingness of the last few tracks after you've already sat through over 45 minutes worth; why not hold the other songs (which are just as good) for a future release? With albums this long I usually end up listening to them in fragments, which makes it hard to get a full impression of the album as a whole - it can often be hard to find 60+ minutes of listening time to dedicate to a single CD.

Or maybe I'm just being a grumpy sod! This is nothing against Vektor though, 'Black Future' is clearly a masterpiece.

Thrasherdave turned me on to this album on the Evile forum. It's absolutely bloody marvellous. And I don't think Deoxyribonucleic Acid is any worse than the rest of the album. It's an album with no weak moments... straight into my top albums list! The best thing from the New Wave of Thrash that I have heard. Would love a shirt but can't seem to find any online...

And I like A Matter of Life and Death more than Brave New World. Though both are awesome and paste Dance of Death, one of my least favourite Maiden albums.

Also, hello! My name is Caveman Ninja, this is my first post and I should have investigated this forum ages sgo...

Cheers! It's a close run thing but AMOLAD feels more coherent and darker than BNW and the songwriting is slightly more adventurous... The Mercenary, for example, is pretty much filler... do love Thin Line a lot though. But enough, this forum is for thrash!
