Why is only political thrash real? Id rather people keep opinions to themselves. You gotta have fun anyway eh? Fantasy lyrics arent bad...i mean, you dont have political themes in your black metal stuff.

Political music is the worst. Megadeth are lucky their music is amazing like.

If I wnana listen to political thrash then all I'll go for is Megadteh and Sacred Reich really. Some bands are just... no.

Thrash is best when it has silly lyrics (unless you're Sabbat of course), it's hardly a genre you can take seriously.

A thrash band should have brillant lyrics or stupidly bad ones

I did say NEW wave (I own Lawnmower Deth albums etc). I dunno, songs about shark attacks? No matter how good the actual music is, lyrics like this really put me off. As we have seen in the past, this stuff has a limited life.

To whoever, yea sure my music is not political but the lyrics are serious and meaningful to me at least. Seems to go to all the effort of writing and recording and then fucking yourself with schoolboy/drunken gumbo lyrics is a shame. Still im a bitter 32 year old with 20 years of metal in me so wht do I know?

How can lyrics put you off? Listen to the song as a whole musical piece and enjoy it... If its good music and you liked it...only to find out that the lyrics were about thrash panda zombies drinking beer and raping elves, then youd stop listening?

So what if it has a limited life, its fun and i myself, am enjoying it and very many of people are who also dont care what the lyrics are really about.

It doesnt matter how long youve been listening to metal or how educated you are on it, its thrash and its fun. Now i know its not just me now. But its slightly annoying slagging off all this new wave of thrash and everything. This is why the forum is here in the first place......

Indeed, but I like to provoke sometimes! Seems there is a tradition of 'fun' thrash in the UK, I cant recall too many bands with serious lyrics which is why I look to other countries to supply it which is a shame. But would it work in hindsight? Both L.Deth and Acid Reign took a more serious edge and then split up!

same, i would really like some more serious thrash themes than the constant booze and zombie image, but that doesnt mean i dont love gama bomb and municipal waste. mabye its just the industry signing these party thrash bands cause they know that this is the subject and type of thrash thats coming back at the moment hence why you are so pissed of voidhanger.
