Steve 'Arris - Bri'ish Lion

Postby jonny_boy34 on Wed Sep 12, 2012 8:54 am

The apostophes in that thread title are supposed to emulate the joy of the Steve Harris accent. 'oo 'ere is lookin' forward to Steve 'Arris's new album? It's surely is going to be crap and amazing. Kerrang gave it 4 Ks and called it a brilliant album, so it almost definitely is going to be hilarious and silly. Sounds like it's going to be less Maideny and more hard rocky, though I'm sure there will still be plenty of enjoyable E/C/G/D moments. I only wish Steve was singing on it. Thoughts and opinions please.

I was gonna check it out, but the whole thing just smacks of middle aged man trying too hard to be cool if I'm honest. I love Maiden and Harris' songwriting and playing, but I imagine this to sound like a dodgy saxon record.

It's been streaming on ironmaiden.com for a couple of days now. It's absolutely god awful. And the worst thing is, it's not even that funny. It's just generic rubbish. The only hilarious thing is how high the bass is turned up in the mix. I would have preferred it if Steve wrote all the song by himself and they were just E/C/G/D repeated.

Yeah it's 'orrible, the vocals are awful and there's not a single remotely memorable song on the album.

Oh dear oh dear... I don't think I want to investigate.

If John Kushner is saying something related to Iron Maiden/Saxon is terrible, then it really must be woefully bad.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

This album although not as heavy/edgy as Maiden, it shows the depth of Steve Harris' ability to perform more melodic side. I think it is quite good.
