I don't really see the need for small mp3 players, especially when they're as small as the Zen. You've essentially got your entire music collection in something the size of a credit card and about as thick as the average wallet, so it's not exactly a hassle to carry.

The thing I hate about the bigger-capacity iPods is that you have to use iTunes to sync them, which is a bugger when your main operating system doesn't support iTunes. Plus I hate being forced to use certain software for certain things - I'm a picky geek.

On paper I am a perfect candidate to own an iPod or similar, but I don't. Can't say I want one either. I toyed with getting one of those Walkman things a few years ago and then just lost interest. I find people listening to loud iPods on public transport fucking annoying and I want Gordon Brown to pass a law that allows me to get a big pair of scissors and cut the earphone lead without fear of arrest. I really hope no one in my family is secretly planning to buy me one for my 40th birthday.

I just dont bother. I had one iPod and i got it for free. Never bothered with it ever again.

I find travelling on public transport hard without any music now. On the train coming back from Birmingham, these soliders were getting coarse about fights they'd had and stuff.. I had to listen to that for 2 hours.. I mean... I'd bloody left my crappy shuffle on so it ran out of batteries.

In conclusion, mp3 players are good.

Don't know really, I just never like listening to exactly the same stuff, so I like to have the choice - plus it's more of a hassle transferring files on and off the bloody thing constantly rather than just syncing it once and being done with it. My collection currently stands at almost 22GB so there's still plenty of headroom on the Zen.

I usually shove however many albums I can get on the shuffle and when I've eventually got through them all, the battery usually needs charging anyway, so I'll charge it up and swap the albums.. sort of revolutionary.

I just play games on my phone. Dead hard ones that take me weeks and weeks to complete.

I have an Ipod touch, can't say it's as good as sad people are boastwanking about. The wireless internet thing is good but at the end of the day so what? Just get a proper nano.

I'd be lost without my mp3 player nowadays, got earphones, a car adapter and a home stereo to connect it to so it's always on. Deffo improved the quantity and the quality of music I listen to due to the apathy of gettin off my arse and putting a CD in. I have 1000 songs on heavy rotation then it's '1 album in, 1 album out' so it's always new music and fresh. CD's are just for top-up listens then.

Zurab, Ipods have an album button. It plays it in order.
