Not exactly, but I was watching the Madonna performance and she had two guys from Gogol Bordello guesting and one was wearing a Slayer shirt. :rockdevil:

Anyone else watch the show, the Foo Fighters were amazing!

I turned that bullshit off when the BBC only showed two songs of Metallica's four song set. They didn't cut any of the generic indie shite beforehand you'll be happy to know though

Anyways, in protest, i'm going to increase my carbon footprint as much as I can over the next few years. If I don't get to see a 20 minute Metallica set after sitting through all the crap, then i'll be damned if the next generation are.

Did they cut it because Hetfield went:

"LET ME HEAR YOU IF YOU GIVE A SHIT!"

I thought they sounded pretty good, I watched it on youtube.

A few other acts swore but weren't cut off, they just apologised after the set had finished.

I think i watched about 15seconds of Madonna then switched off. I mean shes a horrible singer and even more hidious than when she was young.... why is she ever a star anymore, she fills none of the criteria..

I watched the Spinal Tap set on youtube yesterday, it was great! Stonehenge was hilarious indeed, the new song is very humorous, and the army of bass players during Big Bottom was very good. I imagine that was the higlight of the day, apart from Metallica, whose set I missed, but then I made up for it by seeing them at the Stadium the next day, which was nice.

The BBC received over three times as many complaints for cutting Metallica's set than they did for the swearing.

I didn't watch it but I saw on the news one of the people wearing a Slayer shirt.

My main problem is with Live8 and Live Earth is that I just don't believe these people give a shit about the Earth and are merely doing these gigs to boost their profile.

I may as well rant about Live8. Number one why should I always be made to feel guilty of being white and living in a country of relative country and Africa's self inflicted problems are my fault. Two is that multi millionaire wankers like Bob Geldof, Paul MacCartney, Elton John etc bitch on abolut helping Africa when they have MILLIONS. Why don't they give some of their fukking money!

These kinds of gigs are pretty much always shams!

I really don't think the intention of Live8 was to make us feel guilty about what's happening out there, not once have I seen or heard anything that tries to tell us it's our fault. The purpose of Live8 was just to raise awareness about the whole thing to try and get more people to help out.

However, I do agree with you that it's all just bullshit! The biggest thing about Live8 that people cared about (including me) was that Pink Floyd reunited for it, nothing to do with poverty! I don't know how the hell a pop/rock concert is goingto save the world, and, well, it hasn't anyway. Live Earth I think was even more stupid, people I'd imagine are a lot more aware of global warming now anyway seeing as it's on the news everywhere and seeing that we fucking learn about it at school!!! It's all bullshit, no one's going to do anything to save the earth and we're all going to die. Cheers world.
