How is it all going?
It's all going well, I just wanted to win the thread! It's not really pissing me off that much. What does annoy me is that I can't go to any gigs when I'm not in hospital (or anywhere else, really) and that I won't be able to just run around in crackdens and whore palours when I come out of hospital for the last time. Also, they took bone marrow from me yesterday and it was a little uncomfortable. Oh, and the waiting around for hours as an out-patient. Long!
Things that are actually pissing me off is people (pretty much my Dad) having a go at 'political correctness gone mad', as well as cunts like Andy Gray and Richard Keys. In particular, I was watching a program on social mobility on BBC2 yesterday and there was a bloke that said that social mobility restrictions were non-existent and that the reason most poor people stay poor is because of their limited natural ability. I commented that I thought that such a thing was unlikely and my Dad accused me of having that opinion because it was 'politically incorrect' to think otherwise and I had brainwashed myself to reject such theories because they drew uncomfortable conclusions. That's bullshit. And I hate attacks on political correctness gone mad anyways. I'd much rather it got it occassionally wrong and that people knew that it is wrong to consider ethinicity or sex a mark of inferiority than have people singing 'Baa baa black sheep' (fine) and asking me if I want anything from the 'Paki shop' (not okay).
To a less extent, I'm still getting riled up by capitalism generally. A system of perpetual growth cannot perpetually sustain itself! It is impossible! That doesn't mean capitalism must fall, it's proven it doesn't. But it does mean 'boom and bust' is inevitable. And the top always does just fine and the shit is always felt by the bottom. But these facts are regularly denied or, far more frequently, ignored. Blows my mind.
Oh, and related to the above points, I watched 'Boys from the Black Stuff' a week or so ago - a BBC series based in Liverpool during Thatcher's Britain. The more I find out about her, the more she pisses me off.
