Listen to this fucking incredible live performance of the amazing song Sunset Superman (from Dio's Dream Evil album) from 1987! Amazing song (slightly hilarious chorus), and what unbelievable vocals indeed.

It's also nice to see on Blabbermouth there are still loads of comments from bands/artists about Dio's glory and wonder.

Got some Dio on the Podcast as a tribute to the man. Obviously put on Holy Diver (predictable, I know) but fuck it, it's Dio mang.

Still struggling to come to terms with this. It's bloody unfair.

I don't think enough people recognise the amazing of Rainbow in Dio's career. The true fans do of course, but many common boys and girls just talk about Holy Diver and Heaven & Hell, when really Rainbow's Rising is the best album that Dio has ever been on, and they basically did amazing heavy metal before Priest and Maiden, or maybe around the same time. But anyway, how glorious. Stargazer... wonderful. And the first album too. I'm listening to Catch the Rainbow a the moment, and it's so bloody lovely. Nothing beats Dio's vocals in terms of such emotion and rich feeling. Lovely lovely lovely.

Couldn't agree more. I would also rank Heaven and Hell above Holy Diver personally.

Yeah me too actually. Although there are 3 or 4 songs on Holy Diver that maybe are better than most of the Heaven & Hell album, but I could also say the opposite thing which is also true. So I would combine them and make this ultimate album:

1. Neon Knights
2. Stand Up & Shout
3. Children of the Sea
4. Caught In The Middle
5. Holy Diver
6. Die Young
7. Don't Talk To Strangers
8. Heaven And Hell
9. Rainbow In The Dark
10. Shame On The Night

Elf. Fuck you guys.

Seriously though, I chose Holy Diver because I own none o Dio's Sabbath material. At all. Heard it, liked it, don't own it.

His best ever vocals were on stargazer, sign of the southern cross and die young. Just my humble opinion!

Add Sunset Superman to that list and I agree! And also Catch The Rainbow. Glorious vocals indeed.
