It's a damn fine album for sure but it's no Blackwater, Reveries or Deliverance.

Also: Hessian Peel - Mellotron or keyboard melody near the end =
Woodpecker From Mars but with a different last note.

I've heard a bit of The Lotus Eater and Porcelain Heart, and that's enough for me until the album comes out in real life. My appetite is suitably whetted, and I'm looking forward to this more than many things and all.

Oh yeah and of course I saw Heir Apparent live (and watched the bootleg back one and a half times), which is also amazing but a bit harder to get into (which probably means it'll be better than the others in the long run, perhaps).

why dont you just listen to the album? i dont see what's gained by waiting for an official release date, it's not like the music suddenly gets better because its officially been released.

There's nowt more refreshing than going a shop on release day, unpeeling the wrapper and chilling with my headphones on. Either that or winning the fucker for pennies on ebay gives the same feeling.

Yeah, that's it really. Of course the music is the same, but if I download the album now and rape it completely, as I would, it would feel much more unsatisfying when I actually bought the album when it came out, already knowing what it's like. Before the internet took over the world, it used ot be very very exciting indeed to go out and buy an album on the day of release and listening to it for the first time. Now, I know I've slightly soured the experience as I've already listened to a little bit of the new Opeth album, but I have only listened to a couple of minutes from it, so it will still be a brilliant exciting feeling to wake up early in the morning, drive down to the shops, and blast the album very loudly in my car on the way back for the first time.

That's really dumb.
