that is so wicked on 4player.legendary stuff.the ps1s answer to mario kart.
also i was playing more of my snk arcade classics compilation today and just got through the jungle route on the awesome shock troopers.
think mercs + metal slug = shock troopers.
its better than the already awesome metal slug.its like a top down version and if rambo/commando were a video game then this would be it
this is such a good game.possibly the best 2D action shoot em up game ever.it has everything.a rocking metal, techno and drum and bass soundtrack, cool animations and great level designs, snow mobiles/motorbikes/ziplines/huge mechanical bosses etc.
at 6mins 20secs you get the biking level
me and my brothers played this in the hotel arcade in america in 97/98 but i only just realised after playing it earlier that this was the same game that drained us of quarters on holiday

Re: Console Gaming
CTR!!
One of the few console games I can hold a conversation about! I've never been much of a gamer, but I did love that one. I realise it is a total Crash rip off of Mario-Kart, but as we had a PS1 that was the one we played.
I think 4-player CTR would be amazing, we could do trophy tournaments and also the battle mode (with homing missiles banned!).

Yeah, I used to fucking love CTR! It was one of my favourite games, I wish I still had it. I'm to have to start getting some of my old favourites back I think. CTR, Croc, Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus (I've got Oddysee), Tekken 2 and 3 (I can't believe I don't have any Tekkens in my possession anymore!), and maybe a bit of Spyro The Dragon too (the first one), I used to bloody love that also.

Re: Console Gaming
I think we've still got CTR, but infuriatingly enough the PS3 isn't compatible with PS1 games! I think we still have the PS2 somewhere, but that's too much hassle.
Who was your favourite racer? I must say I think I used Crash the most as he's a good all-rounder, but Tiny Tiger was decent for all out brute speed. When it comes to battles though, extreme handling is key so I would often use the female bandicoot (can't remember her name... Coco?).

Re: Console Gaming
I downloaded CTR racing the other day for some nostalgic childhood memory sessions. It's still the best thing ever.
And Vigilante 8, the first and second one. Anyone remember it? I used to be addicted to it back in the day, the sound effects are embedded in my brain.

Re: Console Gaming
i think i just prematurely ejaculated in my boxers at this trailer.
its soooooo tempting to get an xbox 360 after all, literally just for this
watch it in full screen/high quality
who knows, maybe i can ebay 1 or 2 more rare games and put the profit towards having the ultimate fighting game in the world.
it looks toooooo "perfect" in every way.the graphics, music, combat system the 2d/3d combination of animation.so classic yet so modern.bang on.
