You're always going to get that hype surrounding female metal bands because there aren't that many of them about that are any good. I suppose the record labels are going to push the "girl band" gimmick because they know it will sell more records, in a similar way that Lordi sell records because of their costumes, etc.

Yeah, at least there are some females doing something worthwhile in metal, unlike bands like Lacuna Coil or Nightwish.

Oh noes they're girls! It's not like people are listening too them just because they're female. If I didn't like their music I wouldn't have bought the CD, I'd have saved myself £10 and just touched myself while looking at their myspazz pictures.

Sure it might help get people to listen to your band a little quicker but people aren't going to buy your CD just because its an all female band or because the band dresses up in Giant penis costumes. Seems to be hard enough to get people to buy CDs from bands whos music they actually like, nevermind ones they just like the look of.

Sadly this is so blatantly not the case its untrue. Might be true of everyone on this site, yeah, but the record buying public as a whole will go for any kind of gimmick - which is what this is being marketed as. Show me an article written since their recent push that doesn't make an issue of their sexuality and I'll be surprised.

I havent even seen a single article about the band what so ever, but I don't pay attention to the "metal press". Even if the ones published they mention its an all girl band, so what, its not common to have a load of girls playing some hellhammer worship they're bound to mention it. Just like they'd mention it if it was a band from some obscure country.
