Loads of reasons really. Easier to scan through (especially if you're reading something you've already read once), makes best use of the space available, and I can't really be bothered to grapple with an editorial veneer (which will often be shoddy) when all I'm interested in is what the band has to say.

I hate it when a magazine goes ON and there's only 2 or 3 points of interest in the whole page and a half of writing :P

I'm also one for Q&A, it makes the interview a lot easier to conduct as well lol.

It also gives you the chance to promote forthcoming interviews by putting forward fan questions and such.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.
