True, but they somehow get loads of credit for their solos?!??!

Also, lots of the riffs aren't actually very hard to play :P

Pfft! Who cares? They're catchy. Hard riffs are for shit prog bands who nobody listens to.

I am not a guitarist, but i remember piggy from VOIVOD laughing because some of the stuff they wrote used chords he had made up himself, and he used different tuning. what he found funny was that some guitar wizzaed guys who used to write tab books tried to map out some of their stuff and couldnt do it right so changed it to make it easier!!!!

Nevermore.

Slayers hardest could well be Behind the Crooked Cross for the stamina. Likewise with Through Eyes of Glass. If you play it like a man and don't pussy out by doing it with alternate picking it's an absolute bitch.

Hell even forbidden alternate pick it live.

Or you can learn how to get your up strokes to sound like down strokes :-) thats what i did.

Upstroke pinch harmonics for the win!!

Martins crap, onstage we double up my guitar to make it sound like hes playing, when hes not.

One of the hardest riffs (sections) i know is probably the beginning minute of Serenity In Murder, before it calms into the verse riff.

Lamb Of God have some toughies.......Hourglass end..........

But id have to say Cannibal Corpse top it off.

Try learning Frantic Disembowelment

here's a toughie.

"der-du-du-der,du-du, da-da-da-da-da-da-da, der-du-du-der, du-du, da-do-da-do-du-do-da" i.e. the Metalbrew Theme tune. yep.

how about this one,

MOSS - The Gate II

its a real stamina test...
