[Megadeth.] I have an undying hatred for Metallica that I can't really explain. Kill 'Em All is one of my favourite albums but they've just gone shit, I don't care for metallica anymore. I don't really care for anything after KEA at all really. Saying that, I only own the first 4 megadeth albums and only the first and third are amazing for me, Peace Sells... hmm, havn't listened to that in ages I'll get it out tomorrow but it doesn't stick out in my mind as a great album. [/Megadeth.]

Deth, mostly.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

hrmm, i think megadeath write more out-there songs and i deffo preffer the solos however i think in the traditional notion of memorable songwriting metallica have it in the respect that if you played say peace sells and MOP to a girl who doesnt like thrash in her car shed probably preffer the metallica as the chorus's are catchier!

For me....early metallica sways it im goin tallica

Megadeth have the riffs, the solos and the anger, but Metallica are just awesome. Somehow they produced brilliance every time from 1982 to 1988.

In my opinion, Megadeth are better, but Metallica are overall more consistent in their brilliance.

Basically, what I am trying to say is, they are even.

That being said, I don't ask much more from thrash than riffs, solos and anger.
However, I know what you mean, Metallica's songwriting was indeed mighty. I don't really know because both bands are led by twats. Best way to do it is to rate top 3 against top 3. So:
KEA
RTL
MOP

or

SFSG
PS
RIP.

Fuck it. It's too tough.

They're both amazing young boys but idiot old men. Both classic eras have loads of memorable amazing songs, but I think I prefer Metallica's. I could go on about St Anger being rubbish therefore saying Megadeth are better, but to be honest United Abominations was no better, and currently Metallica are better live than Megadeth, who to be honest bored me a little bit when I saw them last year. Metallica still excite me very much every time. And for fuck's sake, I saw them play And Justice For All at Wembley Stadium. Who the hell could ever imagine that happening!

Hold right on!

Live, Metallica better than Megadeth?

Sir, my balls can't handle this, and have subsequently broken.

I always liked Megadeth better. Rust in Peace blew my cock off.
Metallica didn't have the complexity and the melody that Megadeth had back in the day...
