i suppose you buy your import copy of The Sun newspaper too Iain :D .who cares whats going on back home.i prefer to be more interested about how to spend my precious holiday time wisely and to the max.i dont watch t.v/the news either when theres sun, beaches, pools etc etc around me.i can watch t.v when i get back to the shitty weathered u.k and am stuck indoors.my mobile only gets used as an alarm clock too, rather than texting, ringing people back home.not JUST coz its expensive but because IM ON HOLIDAY!!!
i may ring home midway through the holiday for 5-10 mins on a payphone to say how im getting on but thats my limit.

i cant believe when i was in tenerife at age 16 and my mate said "i wonder whats happening in eastenders...blah blah blah" (with all the possible scenarios/outcomes) :wall:

Sod that.

I don't text people or anything but, whenever I go abroad, something amazing happens. Examples of this include: JFK Jr. kicking the bucket; a fuck-off, massive air-show disaster; 7/7; and John Smeaton kicking that charred corpse. Considering I had to fly back to Glasgow, the last of those seemed quite important at the time.

nah i see what you mean but its better coming back and being surprised with spectacular events you missed or even better finding out some shit went down while you were on holiday ie:you were sipping on a beer watching topless women sunbathe whilst in london people were being blown up.

i know it sounds harsh but its not like we coulda done anything to stop it,theres a time and a place to be miserable over/talk about these events and that when we return back to reality/in the u.k,so why let it affect your holiday.the last thing you need in the back of your mind when tryin to enjoy the lovely dolphin show is how some paedo got let off and reoffended, this time on his 2year old grandson.

of course if i was on holiday and i was texted some good news ie:taxes have been abolished or work rang me about a £500 bonus then thats the only kinda gossip/news i wanna hear about.

Bad news everyone. Jon's dead. He was shot at the airport for no apparent reason. Shame really. RIP Jon, we all hated you.

I'm back. I didn't use the internet once, and I got 76 e-mails in my inbox. That'll teach me for not using the internet. I'll be back tomorrow with a full report (which will mainly consist of how I lay down most days and listened to a variety of excellent music, including the new AC/DC album, which is still amazing).
