Some thoughts.

LAWNMOWER DETH
Racing crowd surfers, trampoline bouncing and probably more adudience participation than actual songs, nobody left the main stage without a big, cheesy grin.
8/10

SABBAT
Playing to less people than Lawnmower Deth, Sabbat took lots of fast songs and made them faster. Quite odd then that they had to cut their set short, missing out Wildfire after orders from the organisers. Not the best I've ever seen them but the inclusion of Blood For the Blood God made me do a little happy dance (in my head, of course).
8/10

ESOTERIC
Part doom, part death, all boring.
Plus the Rock Sound stage was shit.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz/10

HECATE ENTHRONED
I can honestly say I've never seen Black Metal performed in a white Sergeant Pepper t-shirt and tigerstripe leggings.
Good set, shame about the sound quality of the Terrorizer Stage. Far too quiet.
7/10

ANAAL NATHRAKH
Terrorizer stage still too quiet but a brilliant performance nonetheless (even though I only caught just under half of it).
8/10

PARADISE LOST
As good as the sound quality on the main stage was, unfortunately Nick Holmes couldn't match it. Wafer thin and struggling to hit any of the high notes, this was the worst performance I've seen from him. Shame.
7/10

ALCEST
Back on the appalling Rock Sound stage and stuck halfway in the crowd and catching only occasional glimpses of the band, I quickly decided the best way to enhance the experience was to just close my eyes and listen. It worked. A fantastic performance that managed to rise above its abysmal surroundings.
8/10

What's wrong with this picture?
