You know there's a problem with a band if there has to be a 'beginner's song'.

Woops, I just watched the first minute of the Porcelain Heart video. I'm ashamed of myself.

Thanks to typical Brum traffic and the usual inability of venues managing to get people inside before the first band actually start, I missed all but the last thirty seconds of Three Inches of Blood.

DevilDriver were excellent. A lot of people dismiss them as nothing but Death Metal Lite but they've got some top songs and always get a crowd revved up. Dez has come a long way since the godawful Coal Chamber. 8/10.

Arch Enemy are seriously starting to bore me live now. Same old routine every time. A few songs then a guitar solo, a few more songs followed by another guitar solo, another few songs followed by a drum solo and so on and so forth. For a band with only 50 minutes to play, they spent more time (again) on playing solos and instrumental passages than getting the crowd going with any type of momentum.
On top of this, Angela looked as rough as old dogs last night and her voice (whether it was her problem or the sound engineer's) was awful. Mike Amott's guitar was crystal clear but Chris's seemed quite low down in the mix and at some points it was a drum and bass show. 5/10.

Opeth were worth the wait and should have been the headliners every night. Just brilliant. Can't say any more than that. 10/10.

Oh, and a big fuck off to the stupid girl causing trouble down the front by constantly elbowing, kneeing and kicking people (before Opeth had even come on). It didn't even look like she wanted to watch the show but spent more time trying to hurt everybody in her vicinity. Proof that it's not just lagered up blokes who cause bother at shows, this girl pissed off so many people last night it was stupid.

Fucking hell, WREATH!!!!!! GOOD LORDWU£Y@£yqwiu3ywqiu3y2i9r679de87r8e

Shitting hell, I hope they play that song at Bloodstock or whenever I see them next! That song must be amazing live... shitting hell, they really are the best band in the bloody world, they always have amazing and surprising setlists. And goodododdohdsdhs loordddd, In My Time of need as well! That'd be so blooyd lovely I wouldn't believe it. I suppose they must've been the two songs they hadn't played in a long while/ever they said they were going to do. The rest of the setlist is the same as the Melloboat one, and it's a bloody amazing one. Serenity Painted Death ripped my balls off, that song is amazing.
