That became quite messy. Was an absolutely awesome day. I am really, REALLY pissed at work. Can't be arsed to put bands in order.
STD = Shite.
Koresh = Bastard offspring of Iron Monkey. Really impressed.
Flowers of Flesh and Blood = I was a bit too pissed at this point but I was rocking out on the balcony. Always great.
Sons of Merrik = Band of the night. Pure rocking class.
El Schlong = Absolutely insane. Kind of bewildering but really cool. Nice proggy, spazzed out deathy wildtimes.
Dead Existence = Almost band of the night. Absolutely sexual. Loved the groovey goodness.
Nebukadnezza = Hilarious. Donny late. Turned up and burnt the place.
Dopefight = I went for food. Sorry. Heard were very good.
Damnas = I was fucked but that was the ultimate party atmosphere. Lovely, lovely band and people. Kushner singind was a particular highlight.
Trippy Wicked = Still eating.
Mallory Knox = Wierd. KInd of grungey, definitely punky. Singer is my new secret crush (don't tell my girlfriend).
Brilliantness.

Hooray!
What another amazing gig.
It was amazing.
And unbelievable.
And also really good.
So, I didn't catch all the bands unfortunately. I imagine STD were shit, I thought they were going to be so I purposely turned up late, because I really didn't want to see them. I mean, they day would've been perfect if they weren't on the bill. I don't know what Jake was playing at putting that shit band on. So I didn't watch them, because they are so shit.
I didn't see Koresh either, but I don't know who they are.
Nebukadnezza were amazing and blew my balls right up my arse. They keep getting better every time and I can't believe their madness.
Dead Existence are so MIGHTY. I just cannot believe their might and power. Goodness me.
Dopefight were fucking awesome, and groovy as hell, and I appreciated the singer/guitarist's wonderful leg movements.
I only saw a bit of Mallory Knox, but they seemed pretty heavy and groovy.
Trippy Wicked were well bloody good, I really like this band, the singer is very cool indeed and has a marvellous voice.
Sons of Merrick were really rocking. I sometimes find parts of their music a bit boring, and the frontman needed to interact more with the crowd, but they were pretty bloody rock 'n' roll.
EL SCHLONG! My god, they absolutely blew my mind. Second to Hell (who borrowed their costumes, incidentally), they were the band of the night. Absolutely incredible. Apparently they are moving to Berlin next September, so catch them while you can. We will definitely have to put them on Metalbrew next year. They're so unique and unbelievable, it's prog metal as you've never seen it before, even Faraz liked it, so it must be good! Really, I cannot state enough how amazing this band are. Bloody hell.
Flowers of Flesh and Blood were my next favourite band of the night. I love these guys so much, and Fred being completely wasted at his last show with them was a particular highlight. Keith is such a fucking awesome and powerful frontman too, they're just a really energetic and exciting band, and have lots of bloody good messages too, like hang the nazis and such.
Then we played, and it was unbelievable! Haha, pretty much my favourite gig with Damnas ever, although I've been saying that quite a lot recently, as the last few gigs have been so amazing. But this one really was one of the best! The energy and atmosphere was amazing right from the start; where usually it takes me one or two songs to get into the swing of things, I felt beserk from the first chord of Threshold. Letting Fred play the bass while I sang with Donny was one of my favourite moments of playing ever, although it was fucking exhausting! I had no idea how tough it was to be a singer/shouter, bloody hell indeed. But it was amazing. Then a few naked/half-naked men invaded the stage for A Tall Order, and that was amazingly hilarious and fun. And the rest of the set was just fantastic, I had such a bloody good time!
But it wasn't over yet. It was time for Hell, and they were probably the best band I've ever seen. A supergroup of heavy metal featuring Jake, Jamie and the drummer from Dead Existence, they're actually the best band in the world. If you want proof and you're friends with Jamie or Jake on Facebook, or Pat's girlfriend who took the photos, then have a look at the glorious display of fine heavy metal that was presented to us. In fact I'll put a couple of choice ones up below.
Enjoy.

Re: Mate Fest Camden Purple Turtle
this was a wicked all dayer courtesy of Jake and Jamie.so many chums and it was rather homo erotic during the Damnas set.i had to leave after that and i didnt realise Hell were a tranny trio of terror.i bet that was a laugh too.
shame about tubes being crap.
my highlight had to be when i somehow managed to floor 2 guys at once who were being a bit of a nuisance.although enjoying themselves,i dont think the people who wanted to watch rather than mosh were enjoying being ran backwards into and having their pints spilled constantly.
anyway i felt a bit guilty but it was justified and funny(even for them.)
it was a bit of a strip show towards the end of the night.too much male flesh to handle...although i didnt actually 'handle' anyones flesh personally(i might have got a semi on)
nah it was in good fun.
such a great and varied selection of bands.
