hahaha, what a joy.
Povey you lovely big man, your grammar is atrocious but its no worse than my spelling. But it is how you speak so i commend that you are keeping it real, even if it does sometimes read a bit retarded... unless you read it with a brummy accent and then it makes perfect sense haha!
now lets all love each other and pick on other people who we don't know, like n00bs and falsers.

I h8 n00bs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111!
Seriously though, what happened to the scene? It has become a bit corpsified and not in a good way. London used to have about a show a week. Mutant are playing less and even if they did play, who'd join em? Freshney have become very quiet, Damnas have now gone, Dr Death have become less and less active. Also, HOD have buggered off, Covet Chaos have changed direction and Deceptor seem pretty near silent as well! What on earth is going on? Personally, I blame Jamie. I think he's started going around telling everyone thrash is for losers while he huffs on his glue bag listening to Egg.

Yeah I've been wondering this myself, perhaps it's just because we're unaware of the newer generation of bands that exist outside this forum, that and rampant xenophobia. I honestly don't know, but things have been slowing down a hell of a lot, even from my far away perch. Mind you, we are only talking about London here, I've no idea of the strength of the scene outside it.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.
Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

This is true. Especially the xenophobia. It probably is a case of a bunch of bands up-and-coming that are not associated with this site. We need some old-school flyers going out and around again!

We don't want to play London every week man, come on, think how lame that would be! We have some new London shows booked in the capital for next year though.

Re: How many Signed bands have you seen live?
Do you think one factor could be that many of the bands who are around our age have less time for their bands due to real life tings? It's around this age where people have less time and money to spend on rehearsing and playing shows every week, and it's basically for these kind of reasons I've had to leave two bands, because it was all too mad for my life at the moment and I need to slow it down. Unless a band is focussing on making that band their career (which is getting less and less likely these days due to the shittiness of horrible cunts and wankers making it practically impossible to happen), people don't have the time these days to be going mad with bands all the time. That's what's happened to me anyway. I will create a glorious band with Fist Of Liberty (or whatever we'll be called), but even then we're not going to have the time to be one of those mad active bands.
Just a thought, I wonder if other bands have been going through similar tings?

I understand that, but everyones life is different. Both Ian and me finished the fanzine because we just never had time to continue it the way we had been doing. I was working 60+ hours a week and had a wife and 3 kids and ian was about the same. As we always promised to review every thing someone took the time to send us, it became a bit of a nightmare, the last paper issue we did had over 700 reviews in it alone, and each thing id try to listen to at least 3 times to be fair to it, then write the review, trying hard not to make the review too generic etc. It took over my life for a while and every spare minute was spend doing it, that was never going to be able to continue. I guess that was sort of what jon is saying.
However, other people with less frantic lives probably have way more ability to fit things in without issues.
Jon, just become a bum and dedicate your life to the music!!

Yeah there's been a bit of a drought of thrash gigs recently, if it carries on like this I'll have to start going to death metal shows or something.

All these back in the day? If so, YOU GIT! You chuck Vio-Lence in there (which I already know you can) and I'm on a massive jealousy trip.

Yeah - I used to go and watch the old punk bands in my early teens. Saw my first ever stagediver at a Dead Kennedys gig at Manchester University in '80.
Unfortunately when I saw the Crumbsuckers (supporting Slammer and Onslaught) they had a new singer. Chris Notaro had just left.
