Fistful is the only Anthrax album i really like, all their studio stuff kind of disappointed me after that. They were one of the best live bands around though. I first saw them at hammy Palais in May 86 (Onslaught supporting) bloody brilliant gig.

Plus the fact they weren't as good as metallica (which don't mean they were crap tho!!). How times have changed
That's true. Metallica were better when I saw them both together in '86. Same again when I saw them both at Donington in '87. People don't realise how good Metallica actually were live back in the mid-80's.
And Mort - you're wrong about one thing - "Spreading The Disease" is the best Anthrax album. "Madhouse", "A.I.R." and "Gung Ho" carry it over the debut.

I've got to disagree with that. I saw Anthrax blow away Metallica both times - supporting them at Hammy O in 86 and at Donongton 87. I thought Metallica were pretty average both times! (Hetfield did have a broken arm at Hammy O tho!). Funny how people have different views on the same event. Don't get me wrong, on record Metallica were far suprior to Anthrax, but live i thought the 'Thrax were fucking good...

METAL THRASHING MAAAAADDDDD!!!!
Fucking awesome band, they're probably my favourite band ever next to Pantera.
First album I got was Attack of the Killer B's when I was a kid and it fucking ruled the chools... Their version of S.O.D's Milk was heavy as fuck!
I'm one of those Anthrax fans that totally fucking loves the John Bush era too. Not including the last album, "We've Come for you All", the first 3 they did with John Bush were fucking AMAZING in my opinion. He's definately my favourite "non shouting" singer in metal. Oh, and Armored Saint are awesome too!
AN-FUCKING-THRAX!!!

Exactly what he said.

I didn't actually say Anthrax were better than Metallica. Much as I love Thrax to bits, you're absolutely right. In the eighties they weren't as good. Among the Living is spectacularly brilliant, as is Spreading the Disease but neither are Master of Puppets or Ride the Lightning.
What I said was:
They were seriously gaining on Metallica in the popularity stakes
However, since 1993 Anthrax have pissed on Metallica, even when you include the slightly iffy Volume 8.

I have the rest if you want to grab them at some point mate.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.
