Get a soundcard, get a record player with audio outputs, get the right connectors, plug them together, then get an audio-in recording program (something like soundforge should be able to do it), play the record and press record!!! Record it in .wav format and you'll get a huge sound file, then split it into tracks and then encode them to mp3 256 kbps format or something! Simple really :D

Stick a 2 to 1 adapter on the L & R audio leads on the recrod player, stick it in the line in port on your soundcard. Get some audio recording software, record from line in. Thats what I do anyways.

And you don't see the irony in having a Flotsam and Jetsam album cover as your avatar?
The best package I bought recently was the new Domain cd "Stardawn" probably far too power metal for most on here, but the limited edition comes as a big fat fold out digipack with a free live dvd AND a free 75 minute best of cd.
I actually love picking up old thrash vinyl, got some Laaz Rocket lp's of ebay before chrimbo, great stuff.

My pc sound system is better than most peoples hifi's.

I have nearly 9000 tracks on my playlist. If I'm listening to BB King I don't want to have to search through a pile of CD's for some KISS.

Plus, most CD's are way too expensive.

Give me a good way (ie. NO DRM) of downloading mp3's I would happily pay for them.

I fucking hate CDs. You can learn more about your favorite band on Wikipedia than reading some cunting little insert with 35 words.

Lyrics are availible on the 'net.

And finally, if you buy a hard copy for pictures of the band or some poster you are a tit. The music is whats important.

ever heard of a cd rack? that way you can put all the cds in alphabetical order or something so they're easy to find.

eBay? most online shops are cheap anyways

It's one of my favourite death metal albums. The follow-up EP "Inhuman Condition" is also very good, but the "Promise" album is crap.
Kam Lee has a new band now, by the way - Denial Fiend. Their debut album is supposed to be out fairly soon.

Please dont be obtuse. It's much quicker having them on the PC already.
