Re: Recommend Me An iPod
You just need to find the resolution and format supported by the Zen and run them through a converter. At a guess, I'd say MPEG files at 320-by-whatever resolution should be fine, but as I said I've never played with videos on the Zen anyway, it's purely an mp3 player for me.

Re: Recommend Me An iPod
I managed to get an episode of American Dad on in by converting it with DivX. Bit of a long way round but I don't intend on using it for videos that much.

Furthermore, is there any good reason why I shouldn't use Winamp? It seems to be more welcoming of mein Zen.

Right-O!
Pretty sure I did the right thing getting the Zen, now. I've got it up and running as I want it using Winamp (haven't used it in a while but seems more accommodating than WMP) to sync playlists etc and use the DivX Converter and the Zen Explorer for putting videos on.
Up next, a stupidly expensive pair of earphones that won't break like my Shure ones did...

Sennheiser CX-300s - I've had two pairs of these, both have been absolutely brilliant. I did get a pair of CX-400s in July, but these weren't that brilliant so I've gone back to the 300s, the pair I'm using at the moment is getting on for 2 years old, which is awesome considering I used to fry pairs of JVC Gumy headphones within a week.

Re: Recommend Me An iPod
So they're not shite?
I did love my Shures because they were so good I had stop crossing the road unless I could see for Shure there were no cars coming, lest I get crunched. They just... broke though. The casing fell apart when I was out in Eastern Europe and I was left without music for a couple of days. Having to put up with a Russian bus driver's choice of music on a six-hour bus journey damn near killed me.

Nope, the CX-300s are the best pair of headphones I've ever had. You can probably pick them up for about £20 from a couple of places online, Dabs.com had them at £17 I think.

Re: Recommend Me An iPod
They look faggish. I ordered a pair of CX-300s from Amazon anyway.
See this Zen, it's got an inch-long scratch on the screen already. I've had it in a leather case thing too.
BASTARDS!
Otherwise it's good, though, and it's just a hairline scratch so you can't really see it.

Get a screen-protector, one of those thin-film ones, I got a silicone skin and a screen protector as a kit from Amazon, I hardly use the skin but the screen protector is awesome.

Re: Recommend Me An iPod
Yep, as I said though I hardly use the case itself, just the clear screen protector. There's not a lot of margin for error so if you get it skewed but it's definitely worth it

Re: Recommend Me An iPod
My Zen has crashed and cannot be reset no matter how many times I stick a pin in the reset hole thing.
WAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
EDIT:
Disregard!
Speed-drinking-related mishap, I was actually just crunching the microphone socket.
THEY LOOK SIMILAR!
EDIT II:
But it now freezes up whenever I try to play a track having reset it.
WAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
